It's double the baby joy for Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony: They're the proud new parents of twins, a boy and a girl, Lopez's rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The babies were born at 12:45 a.m. ET on Friday in Long Island, N.Y., says her rep, Simon Fields.
They're the first children for Lopez, 38, and the fourth for Anthony, 39. The couple celebrated the impending births with a baby shower in New York on Jan. 19. "They were just beaming the entire time," said one partygoer.
Longtime friend Leah Remini calls Lopez, 38, "a born mom" and very nurturing. "With our daughter, she's so great. I mean, lets her go in her closet and play with her coats or her jewelry. She's just so giving and loving," Remini said.
Lopez announced her pregnancy Nov. 8, telling the crowd during her final Miami concert: "Marc and I are expecting a baby!" The news of twins was finally confirmed by Lopez's dad earlier this month, in an interview on Spanish-language television.

Jennifer Lopez is expected to rake in $6 million for the first pictures of her twins.
The heavily pregnant actress and singer is reportedly on the verge of signing the deal with People magazine, according to The Daily Record.
This would be the most any star has been paid for the first pictures of their children.
It looks like Lopezs record could be broken in the next few months, though, with a number of celebrity babies, courtesy of Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Nicole Kidman, due to get magazines scrambling for their cheque books.
Previously, photographs of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolies daughter Shiloh were sold for $4 million in 2006.

While the world waits to see Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's new twin babies, Life & Style Weekly spoke with one of the only non-relatives who has gotten a gander at the little ones. "Jennifer was amazing, Dr. Anita Sadaty, J. Lo's OB-GYN, tells Life & Style. She has this motherhood glow about her, very serene. Her boy and girl are healthy and for that she feels so thankful and blessed.
The good doctor confirms that the babies were delivered via C-section on February 22 at 12:12 and 12:23 a.m. (her daughter, showing early diva leanings, came out first). The delivery went without a hitch. There were no complications whatsoever.
And Marc played the doting dad perfectly, coaching his wife throughout the entire procedure. Oh yes, Marc was by her side, says Sadaty. He and Jennifer are simply overjoyed!

"I'm going to send her some baby clothes from my Sean John line."
Jennifer Lopez's former boyfriend Sean 'Diddy' Combs is so thrilled his ex has become another parent of twins he's planning to set the babies up with a trendy wardrobe.
The hip-hop and fashion mogul, who became a father to twins last year, was delighted to hear the news that Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony had become parents to a boy and a girl on Friday, and now he's hoping to play their fashion godfather.
Diddy says, "I'm going to send her some baby clothes from my Sean John line. I'm so happy for her. It's such a blessing."
And he hopes Lopez will find as much joy in her twins as he has in his new babies: "It's double the love, and it's also double the crying and the screaming, so it's a unique blessed situation. It's a rarity to have twins."

Jenny from the block's twins, Max and Emme, may have gotten their names from PBS cartoon called "Dragon Tales" -- a kids show about a brother and sister named Max and Emmy who socialize with dragons. How fitting!
The show is made to help children learn life lessons though the sibling's adventures, and mixes in Spanish language to promote a bilingual experience for the audience.
