| introduction...
- Welcome to Soompi Hmong Collaborations, a collaboration project created for Hmong singers here at soompi (hence the name). My goal (Annyon) is to bring together Hmong people of all age, sex, and religions with one common interest; singing. My dream is to one day make the youth of Hmong realize that they don't HAVE to be in a Korean or Japanese entertainment to be heard or to be a star. I want to make us all realize that we are ONE people; ONE culture; ONE language; ONE voice. Instead of looking up to the larger mainstream Artists of other Asian countries, I want us Hmong to be able to finally LOOK AT OURSELVES FOR WHO WE ARE, and to recognize the talent and dreams that each and every one of us HMONG are capable of becoming someday.
It saddens me that many of us Hmong has either wanted in the past or still do want to be in a Korean/Other Asian
entertainment. One day I want to finally establish OUR OWN entertainment for our people. We are such a small minority
group, and to arise strength through entertainment and music, we will need all the support and skills we can get.
The Hmong language is a key in this collaboration. Instead of just singing covers, we will be writing and possibly
composing our own HMONG music. Yes, it will be in our language. I especially do not want our language to be lost. We as
one culture must fight the new world, in remaining in tact with our language and our unique culture. I have heard many talented Hmong artists here, so I have no doubts that we can do whatever our will pushes us to do if we just try.
And even if you aren't Hmong, if you are interested in learning the language and culture of our people, you are welcomed to join and even sing with us (if you can learn our language). And for the struggling Hmong of today, even myself, who struggle with reading and speaking our own language, don't worry... We will go through this together, and learn how to write and read in Hmong (hopefully) as one group!
| join us...
- Right now I am looking for people who can:
- Write/Read almost (if not fully) fluenty in the Hmong language.
- Composers (people who make music).
- Singing ability.
And I think that's it for now... If you can write/read in hmong pretty well, please post below and whether you can help
us out or not (with writing lyrics, ect...).
I'll update later... It's getting pretty late where I am. ~_~
