if you're looking into a small (but prestigious) liberal arts school in CA...look into pomona college, scripps (if you're a girl), and pitzer college. they're all part of the claremont colleges...and i know that at least with scripps, the humanities is greatly emphasized while at pitzer social sciences (including psychology) is their specialty.

you can cross register classes at different colleges in claremont and can even take up a major not offered by your home college.

my understanding of ucsd is that it's more focused on bio/chem-tech...bio/chem, etc...not so much the humanities and social sciences. if you're looking into humanities and social sciences i would STRONGLY suggest a liberal arts college (since that usually is their main areas of specialty)...and of course the ivy equivalents (i.e. stanford).

hehe, I got accepted there, such an awesome school (newhouse school of communication) but I'm going to NYU instead.

anywho u. of missouri (columbia campus), northwestern, american, nyu, usc

sorry, I know you wanted cali. places, but a lot of the really awesome places are out of state you know? then again, this is mostly for journalism. I know that NYU has an awesome psych department as well (because the department requires journalism students to double major, many go with psych)

you could google it as well you know. That's what I did when I was searching, it really helped narrow down where I would apply (my top picks were NYU, Syracuse, Northwestern)

dont know anyone that went to NYU for journalism, but i'm sure there'll be plenty of internship opportunities, esp since you'll be around during the school year. Good luck! there's needs to be more asians in journalsim.

I've heard San Francisco State is really good for journalism. I looked into that school last year because that's what I wanted, but I didn't have the money to move up there.

I've mentioned this in the other thread...

CSU Sacramento is the good college for psychology. smile.gif It's competitive though.
