I need help on filling the fafsa. It got fine until "your fianances" what does that mean? it asked For 2007, have you completed your IRS income tax return or another tax return (question 32)?
My parents have filed it already does that mean I put "already filed" or "not going to file" ? I'm pretty confused... If i put already filed and I dont work do I put 0 for my gross income? Can anyone help?

PS. I have a question on UC apps. I marked that I took AP io this year..but then halfway I dropped down to Adv. Bio. AM i supposed to tell UCs that? AM i in trouble for telling them this late now?

I think there are 2 parts of finances, one is for your parents, and the other one is for yourself.

well if your parents already filed their 2007 taxes, put down "already filed"
if you have no annual income and dont need to file, put down 0 for the income box, and the dont need to file option (i dont remember if there is one..)
you and you parents have separate finance steps.

If you (not your parents) never filed taxes, check Will Not File. Make sure you're on the right section though 'cause there's a section for your Parents and You.

For the 'Your Finances' part, I put 'not going to file' and most of my answers were 0s. Usually you only put file if you have a job and you only fill out actual numbers other than 0 if you have a bank account. Your parent's finances and your finances are different. Nothing really happens if you put 'not going to file.'

I think it's okay if you drop out of AP Biology. I don't think they really care. That's just my opinion though.

oh sorry. i think i wrote my post wrong. sweatingbullets.gif

what i meant was that if your parents filed completed their taxes, select "already completed" on their section
if you do no have any income, select "will not file" in your section because you are not required to do taxes anyways.

+most schools have a priority deadline of March 1st so hurry!

and i think its okay if you dropped out of AP bio. its better than failing the class. i took the class last year but did not take the test and they never asked me about it.
