I just recently lost my Canon SD850IS and I am wondering if I should buy the same series again or a different one. So I am wondering what is the difference between the SD850IS and SD1100IS that just came out?
Thanks!

1100is is newer... would need reviews, but usually the next-gen cameras are overall better in general

You can't really compare SD 850 IS and SD 1100 IS because they're completely different cameras. The SD 850 IS is more about quality and performance while the SD 1100 IS is more for portability and show (at least imo). Have you considered getting the upgrade of the SD 850 IS? I think it's the SD 950 IS. It should be between that and the SD 850 IS, not SD 1100 IS.

^ might have to test out photo results, but on paper, there's nothing i see on the 850 IS that says it's superior in quality. the new 1100 is has an upgraded image processor [still digic 3 but with some focusing quirks], has single point zoom AF, and best of all, comes in colors that are now somewhat pleasing to the eye!!

I would go with the SD1100 IS too. Canon upgraded quite a few things. :]
Right now, I'm torn between getting a CANON SD750 or a CANON SD1100 IS. I get either camera for $200, so price isn't an issue. The only major difference I see between the two is that the CANON SD750 has a large viewing screen, no optical viewfinder, and for some reason the SD750 just fits more snugly into my hand, while the CANON SD1100 IS has a smaller viewing screen, cooler color (love the blue!), and less blurry images. Which one do you think I should get?

usability vs image quality... hehe... this is a tough one...
when i had to decide between the two, i decided to just pay more money and find something that did both
but if i had to choose one, it would be usability. [assuming both cameras met my minimum requirements for image quality]
this is because as much as i like getting the best image possible, i rather use a camera that gives me a better experience and also gets me the picture that i want
