I don't know if a thread like this is already existing but anyway i still posted it.
In case there is a thread w/ the same topic pls give me its link..thanks.

I've finished reading the book,The Five People You Meet in Heaven ..
So here are the quotes from that book that caught my attention(:

All endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time.

Holding anger is a poison...It eats you from inside...We think that by hating someone we hurt them...But hatred is a curved blade...and the harm we do to others...we also do to ourselves...

Fairness does not govern life and death...If it did, no good man would ever die young...

Lost love is still love, Eddie. It just takes a different form, that's all. You can't hold their hand... You can't tousle their hair... But when those senses weaken another one comes to life... Memory... Memory becomes your partner. You hold it... you dance with it... Life has to end, Eddie... Love doesn't.

i read Tuesdays With Morrie a LONG time ago.. but here are some quotes.

"What is it about silence that makes people uneasy?"
^this quote made me think...ALOT

"Death ends a life, not a relationship."

"Without love, we are birds with broken wings."

"When you learn how to die, you learn how to live."
^all from Morrie T^T

THE ALCHEMIST<---GREAT BOOK!

"We are afraid of losing what we have, whether it's our life or our possessions and property. But this fear evaporates when we understand that our life stories and the history of the world were written by the same hand."

"When you want something - the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

TWILIGHT
"'Please tell me just one little theory.' His eyes still smoldered at me.
'Um, well, bitten by a radioactive spider?' Was he a hypnotist, too? Or was I just a hopeless pushover?
'That's not very creative," he scoffed.
'I'm sorry, that's all I've got,' I said, miffed.
'You're not even close,' he teased.
'No spiders?'
'Nope.'
'And no radioactivity?'
'None.'
'Dang,' I sighed.
'Kryptonite doesn't bother me either,' he chuckled."
- Edward and Bella

"'And so the lion fell in love with the lamb...,' he murmured.
I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
'What a stupid lamb,' I sighed.
'What a sick, masochistic lion.'"
- Edward and Bella

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE PAGE NUMBERS ARE FOR THE QUOTES OF TWILIGHT THAT I PUT UP?

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

"'I would treat you well.' He turned her chin back so that she looked at him. 'What do you fear most Hadassah? Me or this nonexistent god of yours?'
'I fear my own weakness.'"

Zach suddenly understood that the skull always grinned because it knew it would emerge triumphant, that it would comprise the sole identity of the face long after vain baubles like lips and skin and eyes were gone.

"I'm getting ready."
"For what?"
"This puzzle of flesh."

Memoirs of a Geisha "We lead our lives like water flowing down a hill, going more or less in one direction until we splash into something that forces us to find a new course."

The Picture of Dorian Gray "Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault. Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only beauty."

The Phantom Tollbooth "Whatever we learn has a purpose and whatever we do affects everything and everyone else, if even in the tiniest way. Why, when a housefly flaps his wings, a breeze goes round the world; when a speck of dust falls to the ground, the entire planet weighs a little more; and when you stamp your foot, the earth moves slightly off its course. Whenever you laugh, gladness spreads like the ripples in a pond; and whenever you're sad, no one anywhere can be really happy. And it's much the same thing with knowledge, for whenever you learn something new, the whole world becomes that much richer."

there's a passage in the silver chair that i really used to like. it's not a quote really, because it's almost a page, but anyway it's where the group (not the pevensie kids, whom i don't think are in the book, but these other people) is in an underworld, trying to fend off the tricks of the witch, who is dousing them in a powder that makes them lethargic and careless, and also her words, because she's trying to make them believe that there is no aslan or narnia. and puddleglum for some reason seems to be the most resistant of all of them, and he tells the witch that she may be right, that they might have all imagined the existence of narnia and all that, but even is so, that pretend world pwns her world any day, so he was going to keep trying to head there anyway.

idk. that's the first thing that came to mind. the second thing is maybe the last bit of banana yoshimoto's kitchen, but that's like an entire chapter or something and even harder to explain.

OMG, that was my favorite quote too, haha. My favorite book quote of all-time~! ^^* and may I add that the book itself is amazing overall.
"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb..." T.T ~ so beautiful. That alone was my favorite line. Edward is so charming, lol.

Oh, and the page number for that one...let me check.
It's on page 274.

BTW, I agree - Tuesdays w/ Morrie was amazing too. It had many true quotes about life that really made you think.

Checkmate ♥

Arf, I read it in French so I can't tell the correct quote in English (and the book is japanese, what a mess !), but I love the first sentence of Murakami Ryu's Coin Locker Babies.
(it makes something like "The woman pressed on the baby's belly and took his little sex on her mouth", it made me buy the book sweatingbullets.gif )
Hop ! hop ! here is Bae Doo-Na's thread ! (and watch Linda Linda Linda !!!)

The Second Sons Trilogy by Jennifer Fallon (forgot which book)

"How many people does one have to kill to become a butcher?" - ?? (forgot.. some king/nobleman)
"Not as many as one would have to kill to become a conqueror" - Dirk

To me, that was such a sad quote when you read it in context to the story..
Dirk is forced to standby and watch innocents die (thus being called a butcher) in order to stop a malicious person (the conqueror) tears.gif I feel so sorry for him.. the things he goes through

A definite must read!! Even though the genre is fantasy.. it's not really.. very different from other fantasy books!

"Why do you keep staring at it? Just leave it alone."
"I can't. It's like the sun, I can't ignore it. It's just.. right there!"

"If I could dream at all it would be about you and I'm not ashamed of it." - Edward Cullen

"Mostly I dream about being with you forever." - Bella Swan

"You are exactly my brand of heroin." - Edward Cullen

"Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars -- points of light and reason... And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn't see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything." - Edward Cullen

"I came for you. You are the thing I will die for." ~Jared The Alleluia Files by Sharon Shinn

"Est Sularis Oth Mithas // My honor is my life." ~Huma The Legend of Huma

"Who can predict? Anything, really? We've shaken our world till it rattled, and now it's changing - for the better, we hope, but we don't know. We can analyze the forces at work, guess at the direction of change, and try to influence the outcome, but it's like blind men seeking to control the weather." ~ Dref Illusion by Paula Volsky

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (translated in English by Katherine Woods)

- It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

- Language is the source of misunderstandings.
