Maybe Americans just don't want to spend much time on it.
They could've made their costumes from scratch while the Asians could've just bought it.
There are plenty of other American cosplayers that are pro. (:

I know some American cosplayers that are awesome beyond words. I think all countries have their shares of good and bad cosplayers, its just that all the ones we see from Asia just happen to be the best of the best and EVERYONE seems to point out the bad American cosplayers. I was flipping through cosmode, some of the costumes were pretty bad. >.<

Oh well, woot for cosplay. Cosplay loovveeeee....

Omgsh, those good cosplayers are so hott. I wish I could do that, but it must take a lot of time and effort, not to mention talent O-o

i don't remember her name... but theres this girl from texas, shes hispanic i believe ? anyways, her cosplays are good! she makes hers from scratch. i think her best cosplay would be rei. smile.gif

The Vincent and Tifa cosplayers from Japan are sooo good! I love how they got the exact costume and look the part too. The Americans have crap costumes. I guess the guy only got the ugly ones? Maybe there are some good American cosplayers. But Japan's cosplayers ownnn.

I don't think it's a race thing.
It is really the matter of if you suit the character that you are cosplaying.
Like you can't cosplay someone fat when you are skinny or vise versa.
Then there is the effort matter, some people just put ridiculous amount of money or time for their costume.
I have to say some Caucasians cosplay certain character a lot better than Asians or other race. Since so many anime have different nationalities.

But yea some of them are pretty bad.

it just so happens that...the particular person who made the website found bad pictures for the american side
not all americans are on the 'fat' side
it really depends on how much they want to be "in" it
i mean look at the ones photographed by the asians...they were even in the right scenery (ie. background)

on the other hand..tifa was just awesome haha

the japanese cosplay of tifa looks so real xDD and on teh topic of american cosplaying i'm guessing that some ppl juss really want to dress up like someone kewl even tho they look nothing like them.. xDD nice find tho

LMAO. I honestly know a lot of Americans with awesome cosplays. I think that to cosplay, you need to have:

- pro costume making skillz
- creativity
- the right body
- the right makeup
- sometimes, the right faces..
- the time and effort in the outfits

I think the blog only targeted White people..
