Heyy, my name is Linda and i need everyone's help. You see, i'm working on a class project, where i need to write an article to contribute to my class's online magazine. My article is about the growing trend of Facebook, Myspace & blogs... and i was hoping that you could help answer some questions for me if you wouldn't mind. Please voice your opinions, more is always better =]
1. Why did you sign-up for these?
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?

facebook - to stay connected with friends and reconnect with old ones
blog - to rant and vent and to let my friends know what's going on in my life
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better?
i suppose. blogging helps.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
yeah, facebook lets me know what my friends are up to.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs)?
yeah, but a lot less private.

-Ahah I actually don't know. Popular trend, as in you need to be part of? Or have known of it.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better?
-No not really.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
-Hmm, I guess relate as in which friends we have in common.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs)?
- No, cause you don't want people reading on anything meant for only yourself or something.

Didn't, for the most part. I only have a MSN Space that I used since it was one of the first I found out about a couple of years ago. Facebook, disactivated account.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better?
Not really?
Facebook helps stalkers find you more easily, if you ask me. =\
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
...No.
Why bother when I see everyone in real life? Or through MSN? o____O;
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
That, maybe.
Because sometimes words are more easily expressed in words - and on the internet - than through verbally saying it.

Facebook: because my friend invited me and also it helpsme communicate with friends past and present
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
ummm no, its just another thing that distracts me from doing work
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
See above
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
I dont have a blog but i believe anywhere you write down your thoughts and stuff is kinda like a diary whether on paper or electronically!

In terms of MySpace and Facebook, I joined these to connect with people. When it comes to blogs, I do it because it's like an outlet for me. No one actually visits my blog so I just rant about whatever like when I'm in the midst of writing college papers, I just rant there and let out all my steam and frustration then I write.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
Yes and no. I'm not a very social person but over the Internet, I'm pretty alright when it comes to commenting to other profile pages and whatnot. And sometimes in real life, people just don't listen. Writing it down makes them listen. Though they do tend to forget it easily.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
Not really. I could get to know them better through Facebook, but relating to them via Facebook goes for the same in person.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
Blogs are a journal/diary to me. But Myspace and Facebook, I don't blog because blogging is just personal to me. I just write down random stuff for my own personal reasons. Then I like to read stuff from forever ago and laugh at myself.

1. Why did you sign-up for these?
I didn't. my friend made my myspace account for me. as for facebook, i guess to stay in contact with friends~
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
um idk what you mean by "voice out opinion"? but i don't really use these much anyway
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
um... i'm not sure?
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
more so with blogs i guess, but not really, cus you can't really write anything that you don't want the public to see

I use Facebook because I'm bored, but blogs because I need somewhere to put down my thoughts and I'm too lazy to write in actual journals.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
Yes, because it feels easier to say things when there's no one else watching or no one looking at you.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs?
Only a some way, usually through common interests but it doesn't spark a significant connection or anything.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
No, a lot of people with blogs have comment functions and allow people to view their thoughts whereas a diary seems more private and personal.

Facebook - because everyone else had one, but I also signed up because I want to stay connected with my friends even when I'm out of high school.
Blog - I want to express my personal thoughts and feelings
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
Yes for the blog because it lets me let everything I have in my heart out.
I have a private blog so no one else can read what I right. It sometimes helps me get the thoughts I have crammed in my mind out.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
Maybe if we have the same obsessions, personality, interests, etc.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
Not really unless it is a private blog like I do. I use it as my diary.

To stay in contact with people, and to know more about others.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
Kind of. Like for facebook, I can join the groups that I relate to the most... and it's great for learning more about people. ^^
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
Yeah. You can see people's interests and all, it's good.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
They CAN be... I personally wouldn't call Myspace and Facebook as a "diary", but definitely for blogs.

to keep in touch with people and see how much people have changed. it's a lot of fun networking too
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
i wouldnt exactly say that... but it is quite easier than talking to people through AIM or trying to keep in contact with people over the phone.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
uuum... hm. probably not.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?

Friends had them, wanted to (at the time) be cool (haha). But now I just use them to keep in touch with old friends, or with some; I still blog in order to vent and talk about random stuff.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
They do help me organize my thoughts out rather than keep them bottled in, so I think they do. Sometimes it might not be what I exactly want to say, but when in the heat of the moment, I just type out whatever is on my mind.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
I don't think I can "relate" to others better through such things like this, but I can see a different side of them on the websites.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
Xanga and LiveJournal, yes. Facebook and Myspace, no. Facebook and Myspace are more of connecting with people whereas Xanga and LiveJournal are more blogging sites.

2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
No?
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
No?
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
Well...I don't like Myspace & Facebook's style of "blogs"--or "bulletins" should i say?
Xanga was really good because people replied to your blogs....
-sigh- too bad xanga is "old" now....

- my friends kept telling me about it or sending invitations and i finally gave in
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better?
- voice opinions??? O_o huh? no
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
- no. I get to keep in contact with more people, but not exactly in a deeper way.
- phone/email/in person helps me relate to others better cause they're more private/personal
but i really like the private messages part of Facebook...i have longgggggggg convos with a close friend of mine on that haha
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs)?
- no, not at all. a blog is more personal/for close friends only.... a diary is SECRET
ps. don't get me wrong. i like facebook. in fact, i was in obsession mode with it for the first few months

Because my friend told me to.
2. Do these help you voice your opinions better, if they do, why?
Nope.
3. Do you feel that you are able to relate to others better through Facebook, Myspace & blogs
No, I prefer talking to them in person or on the phone.
4. Would you consider these similar to a diary (more so with blogs), if not, why?
Diaries are personal. Blogs are not.
