Basically my diet consists of only fruits and vegetables.
(Salad for breakfast, an orange and an apple for lunch.. and some more salad for dinner)
My friend said too much healthy food isn't good for me, and that i need a balance.
I know i need a balance... but healthy food isn't good?

ive cut out all that junk food. but aside from your fruit and vegies you need wholegrains, dairy, seeds.. nuts are full of healthy fat WHICH YOU NEED. all those vitamins youre eating wont digest without fat. google the healthy fats to clarify the difference between them and the typical fat youd get at mcdonalds. that healthy fat is essential but in moderation.

Yes you need a balanced diet to get all the vitamins and minerals that aren't synthesized naturally in your body.
You will become deficient in vitamins and may start to develop health problems.

I don't see any problems with eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Only if you eat a lot of carrots, maybe. However your unbalanced diet looks like it's going to give you malnutrition. The simple rule of losing weight to me is ditch the sugars, junk food, fast foods, fried foods and run.
You basically want calorie/fat intake < calories burned.

Sure, you're getting vitamins from all those fruits and veggies, but you need other foods to keep you healthy.
You need whole grains, meats (are you vegetarian or something?), dairy products etc. You need to have some healthy fats in your body.

I tried doing that like you right now, just vegetables and fruits.
Heh, I got so weak and tired after a month or 2.
But you need more meat in you, try eating pork if you don't like beef.
Just work off whatever you eat
*still pm me please, although it might take awhile to reply!

I used to eat your way until I went into bodybuilding.
It's NOT called a "healthy food diet".
It's called THE RAW FOOD DIET.
The people on this thread obviously no nothing about the RAW FOOD DIET.
I followed the raw food diet for a long time. You get all your nutrients and vitamins, but you should still supplement it with a multi-vitamin. You do need protein, but you get that in nuts and your beans. It's not the same form of protein, but you do get it. I have not gotten off it completely but I make raw food 65% of my diet now, when I started bodybuilding I needed the protein from meat building blocks to sustain my muscle gain better. So the beans and nuts weren't enough.
Here are links to the diet you're following and if you're happy on it, you don't have to worry you're most likely healthy. You just need to open the diet a bit more. There are some great sites on managing and living on a RAW FOOD DIET lifestyle, make sure you go to the doctor though and check your not deficient in anything and please, please, please take a good multi-vitamin and fish oils. You lose out on some nutrients like healthy oils on that diet and that's not good for you. You should think about taking in coconut oil in some tea as part of your diet as well.
The most famous Raw Foodist and he's the one who put it on the map through television appearances and books:

Best site in the world for all things raw:

Below is a great site, she has everything and if you can...read up on her:

I hope the above helps you. Definitely take a multi-vitamin, I can't stress that enough. If you're interested in the coconut oil and it's benefits let me know. Take into consideration taking a fish oil multi-vitamin if you don't take coconut oil, you need those fats in your diet. Also make sure you see a doctor about not losing weight too rapidly and if you feel any discomfort, some people do and some people don't get all their vitamins and develop deficiences. Check out the sites, paticularly, David Wolfes, Shazzie and Alissa Cohen's. Living-foods.com should be your online bible.
If you're interested in a few "un-cook" cook books and "raw food" cook books. Let me know, I can give you the best selection since I've weeded through a good number of them.

Uh..take a step and read what you just said.
What do you think lettuce is? Carbs. What do you think every single fruit and vegetable is made of?! Carbs. So you can't sit there and say you don't think it's healthy and she needs carbs, since every single food she'll be taking in the raw food diet is CARBS!!!
If you need to get educated, then go to the site. But you obviously don't know what you're talking about if you're making completely idiotic statements without reading even one site I listed which discuss what the diet is and what the benchmarks are.
The majority of what she's taking in is CARBOHYDRATES with trace fats and proteins. There are protein laden food and hence the reason I guided her to several sites where she can find out more. She can also supplement her protein intake with "whey" protein---used in bodybuilding but good for her to maintain muscle.
In any event, she's taking in carbs and you need to be a bit more careful in what you say since you obviously don't have the understanding of what is the RAW FOOD DIET.

Fruit, does have a lot of sugar, well some fruit---not all. But it's never not good for you. It's in the liquid where the sugar is that you find all the nutrients of the fruit as well. That's what automatically enters your bloody stream and gives you the vitamins you need the pulp and skin are later broken down by stomach acids.
So fruit sugar is NEVER not good for you, as long as it comes directly from the fruit and is fresh. If it's those container fruits, then they're not good for you because they use syrups that have been processed and it's those processed sugars, table top sugar for instance, which is not good for you.
All those awful crap sugars that aren't good for you are found in your food cabinets...all those foods are technically unhealthy since they are not fresh and use preservatives and ingredients such as processed sugar to sustain themselves.

make sure you get some fats (but not too much)
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

Yeah it is good to eat fruits and vegetables but eating bread, pasta...is very important. In the food pyramid, grains, pasta, bread is 6-11 servings a day,
while fruits/vegetables is 3-4 servings a day. Woman also easily develop bone problems and so calcium is needed. Yogurt is SUCH a important dairy product.
It has this bacteria that really is good for your body but you have to eat bread before eating yogurt to have that good effect on you...or so my mom says.
You have to drink tea/water in the morning too! I always eat bread, yogurt, fruits, and at time cereal to get my body regulated.
And you need your share of proteins. Beans, eggs...if you don't want to eat meat.
Balance is very important and you need to eat a good breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
