i go to johns hopkins right now as an undergrad. even though im not premed, (im prelaw) you still have a way long time ahead of you. all my friends are premed, and let me tell its extremely hard, considering all the requirements you have to fulfill, asin taking ocllege courses and whatnot. add to that, you also have to do extracurrics and stuff, but those arent that important. youre still in high school, you have so much more time to think about doing premed to get into jhu med. just do well in high school, maintain all your grades because all high school grades and transcripts WILL go to grad school. whn you hit college, do really well in all your classes, get good recs, do some volunteer work, which would be good if its affiliated with med and whatnot (volunteering at a hospital, doing efr services) and in junior year you should start taking your mcats, which unevitably you should get the highest grades in. jhu med is the top med school out there so you gotta take that into consideration. but as of right now, just do you best in high school and maintain all your grades. you can decide your courses and stuff in college that will eventually lead you to med school
as of right now, since you are a freshman, you should take all the ap courses that are available in your high school. if you planning to get into jhu undergrad, they focus a lot on your essays and recs, so get in good contact with your teachers, especially reminding them of your future goals. you should definitely take the science aps, physics chem and bio. also, make yourself unique in comparison to other students- become a president of a club for a long time, do internships, the science competitions are always good, take a higher course that other students normally wouldnt (like take ap physics in junior year or something). but also, even though you display your strengths, which should mainly be science since you are thinking of premed, you should also show colleges that you are a well-rounded student by also doing well in language and humanities.
^^ hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to pm or ask ;]
