yes stress and diet can affect your periods.
i'm extremely irregular and the longest i've been without periods so far has been... 3 months and a half, and it happened more than once. if you're not sexually active i don't think you have anything to worry about. of course if you are worried, there's always the doctor!!

i use to have an irregular cycle too, but i went on birth control for acne and it regulated my cycle eversince

i don't remmeber how many months my period would skip, but it was about 2-3 months

u should go to the doctors just to make sure of things

for me, every once a year i would miss my period for at least 1 month, which means mine comes 11 times a year instead of 12.

During the first year that I've gotten my period I missed about 2 months. It came back and it's been regular ever since then.
Yes, eating habits could affect it; as well as sleep habit, stress, etc.

It def. could be stress. How old are you though? You may just not be regular yet. I use to only get mine once every like 3 months. I went on yaz to get regular so you might want to talk to your dr. if it keeps skipping around like this.

Yes. Don't worry, it's normal. One time when I was severely stressed out, my period lasted a mere 18 hours. I thought it was a joy, but my mother told me that it wasn't a healthy thing.

I know that that during the early years when you first get your period it can be high irregular. In high school, I knew this girl who missed her period for 8 months. Then she went on birth control pills and it got better. Go see a doctor.

^ see that could be dangerous!

Missing your period isn't always a sign of prego, esp. if you aren't sexuality active. I'm not all scientificy, but there is a certain illness thats supposed to have missing menstration cycle as the biggest symptom, and I was told if you go too long without it, that you need to see a doctor very soon.
It's funny i saw this topic, because my period is late by almost 2 months now, though, at this point, I'm not too worried. It's happened once or twice before in the 4 years Ive had it. mellow.gif I'm kinda irregular, and don't keep track of when it comes usually, but I notice it after a while.
Definatley, if you continue to miss it for even longer, I reccomend seeing a doctor, once surpassing the 3-5 month line.

Its normal to skip months or even stop for like a year when you're still a teen. There could be many diff things causing it, but its not usually bad enough to see a doctor, unless you're older (like maybe 19+?)

The most I've missed my period is for 11 months.
But generally, I get mine about every 6 months. I've never had my period more than 3 times a year.
I do think that maybe stress and diet affect it, but sometimes when it gets to be really, really irregular, it makes me nervous.
