I'm basically debating between this and the ipod nano 3g. The nano seems so much simpler but I'm going to get so paranoid that it'll get scratched. However, the cowon is said to have a really sturdy build and stuff.

I read on anythingbutipods.com that the stylus isn't really .. idk ideal? theres a lot of problems with it. So basically everybody ends up using his or her fingers on the touch screen. Is that what you do?

Some of my questions to cowon users
-do you use the stylus? what do you use as an alternative?
-do you have a cover for it? do you carry it around w/o any protection?
-is it easy to navigate between menus and volumes and etc.
-you know how it stands? is that .. sturdy? or would it fall everytime you try to change a setting and touch the screen

oh and where would you get the expansion memory? I can't seem to find it anywhere online =/

I've owned both Ipod and the Cowon. I rarely use the Ipod nano.

To answer your questions:
1. Yes I do use the stylus otherwise my fingers if Im lazy.
2. No cover. Still good as new (had it for over a year)
3. Very easy to navigate. Just go to the main menu and select the icons.
4. I doubt you would be using that stand but if so yes its sturdy.
Expansion cards = ebay

One great feature is that COWON sound quality playback is much better than the ipod. You will notice a significant difference and wont look back @ the ipod.
Also with Ipod you need install itunes to install your music. With Cowon its simply plug, drop and drag.

Check out youtube to finalize your decision.

the sound quality .. would it be noticeable to people who cant really hear whats wrong with the sound quality in the ipod? i dont think theres anything wrong with the ipod o_O

The quality in D2 is somewhat "stereo" whereas ipod feels just "mono".

i use COWON..like it better than ipod.

- i dont use the stylus.
- i havent remove the plastic cover. Planning to buy a case too.
- yhup yhup... very easy to navigate

for the expansion... you can get it in any electronic store..SD card... i use micro sd...with the adapter

i have the cowon d2 (white)

i loved it till i got a ipod touch 8gb.

i dont need 8gbs.... but theres alot of features!
online, youtube, calendar, mp3/video player,
+
u can get tons of new useful features if u jailbreak it.

the only downside is no radio...
which i listen to alot
(radio included in D2)
