Has anyone ever sustained a concussion or head injury of any type while doing sports/anything? How did it feel like, and were there any effects after?

Yeah, when I was in elementary school, there was this shelf on a table and my brother accidentally pushed it and it hit me in the head because I was on the other side. I got owned pretty badly.
HOW DID IT FEEL LIKE? it hurts like a beezy of course! For some reason I didnt bleed, it shouldve bled like a river, but i dont know what happened because the edge of the shelf got me good.

Ummm... Chin in part of head, so I think I can tell this story. When I was 4 year old, appearently i challenged a friend of mine to race down a ramp in a mall on our tricycle. When I remember it, i think it was a pretty long ramp so we gathered speed. I ended up winning but i couldnt stop my tricycle, so I crashed. Then I blacked out and can't remember what happened. My mom told me a metal bar thing (kinda looking like a long knife) got impaled through my chin. I remember the bandages and the bleeding, but I can't really remember how painful it was. I'm sure it was a lot of pain. Now I have this scar on the bottom of my chin, and still kinda hurts and get a weird feeling everytime I touch my chin.... O_o;;;

Well, my eyes are in my head sooo >_>.

When I was 7, I used to be baby sat by my mom's friend. Well SHE didn't actually baby sit us. More like her older sons did (my mom didn't know that...). So anyway, the 13 year old kid looking after my sister, his brother and I was a jerk who used to chase us around, scaring us half to death. One time we were in the backyard, he jumped out of the bushes and I ran not looking where I was going.

There was a tree branch on the ground, it had all these spindly sticks coming out of it. And here I come running not looking where I'm going until it's too late.

And there we go... Impaled with a stick in my eye.

I don't remember much after that. I know that the ambulance came because I woke up and saw it, but I blanked out after that. I only woke again when I was in, I guess it was the emergency room? and there were tons of doctors surrounding me working on my eye. I blanked out again.

It turned out fine after that though laugh.gif. I wound up wearing a patch for a few weeks and I distinctly remember watching The Pup Named Scooby Doo half blind. Haha.

I think a result of that actually headstarted my chronic headaches/migraines.
Oh, and my mom dropped me a few times when I was baby DX. But she says all parents do that.

I got bounced by a basketball on top of my head, and I landed on my butt and had a good black out for 5 seconds.

When I was seven, I fractured my skull and had a concussion.
What happened was, I was standing on the sidewalk and didn't notice that there were guys playing tag at my church
And so then they came around the corner and ran into me.
Since I didn't really see them, I fell backwards on the cement.. on my head =.=;
I remember it didn't hurt until I opened my eyes
Then the whole night I felt nauseous and my head was like throbbing
So we went to emergency room the next day and they said I fractured my skull
Apparently mine was the "good kind" because I didn't die (:

When I was little, I was riding my bike across a basketball court and somehow fell. I wasn't wearing a helmet (stupid), and my head hit the pavement, face first. I passed out for a few seconds, my nose was bleeding, and my face was bruised for a while afterwards (my forehead, nose, cheeks). But I was okay, didn't have to go to the hospital or anything.

One of my friends fractured her skull when she was little. She was rolling down a hill and somehow hit her head, and when she complained to her parents about the pain they didn't believe her (cuz she always exaggerated things). But a while later, when she had to go to the hospital for some other thing, they found she had fractured her skull back then and it'd healed on its own. It did leave a weird bump on her head though, since it healed unevenly.

i forgot how old i was back then but during gym in elementary school i was running with my hands in my pockets and i guess i tripped and landed on the ground head first. the ground was very poorly paved and had rocks jutting out from the ground everywhere so yeah i stood up crying and my forehead was really bloody i guess D: i...think it hurt a lot x_o but after school when i got home, i couldn't remember anything at all xD but i know i was conscious when they put that huge bandage on my forehead because they asked me if i wanted to go home early or not...which i stupidly didn't x]

when i came back to school and had gym again... i saw like a big red spot on the ground too o_o;;

When I was little, my mother dropped me on the head.. twice.

Does that count?

I fell down while playing soccer once. Had a real, bad headache. :[

well, i was running, but it wasn't because i was playing sports
i ran headfirst full force into a lampost
i had a huge bump on my forehead

and another time i got hit by baseball in the eye
i felt it in my head
and my medial orbital wall got fractured

i was practicing my basketball dribbling once, and decided to see how far up i could bounce the ball
then i threw it down as hard as i could and got hit
i have a pretty hard head
i didn't get a slight bit disoriented but the skin on my face was numb

freshman year, we were doing dryland practice for swimming. and so we're in the hallway, doing wall sits and tossing a medicine ball back and forth when my friend fakes me out, and throws the ball right into my face. mind you, this is a 15lb leather covered weight. i get hit, my head goes back and slams against the wall, opens up a nice bloody cut and the rest is history.

I fell off a brick stove when I was 5 in the backyard and somehow hit my head. Apparently it was bad enough that I had to get stitches. sad.gif Man, having doctors pick that out was not fun.

I also got hit a lot in the head with random baseballs and basketballs when I was a kid too... >_<; haha, sometimes I think it's affected my brain to this day, lol.

Imagine your head being smashed in between the window and the windowsill...It hurts like a mother*^&*%. The story is: I skipped my last 2 periods to go home since I didn't wanna be stuck in an assembly. I forgot my keys. Went home and realized I forgot it so being stupid, I tried to climb in through the kitchen window...well, let's say something (or someone (not me)) knocked the stick that was supporrting the window down and CRASH, the window came crashing down with my head. Ended up having a SWOLLEN and hecka bruised chin for months. I still have the bump caused by it.

....um not sure but
supposedly wen i was a baby, these ppl came over nd dropped me accidently down the stairs, i landed on my head
i fell down the stairs again later on by myself
played on 1 of those bars at the playground, thought it would be fun if i twirled, but no i fell down nd landed on myy head
basically it hurts but i always used to boil a egg, take out the yolk, and put a quarter in it and wrap it up in a towel
then i would apply pressure.. it works to take out the bruise

In 8th grade, I tripped over my foot. My head landed on the edge of my computer desk. I had a cut over my left eyebrow. Luckily, it missed my eye. It hurt. It hurt so bad that I was lying on my bed. Never noticed that I was bleeding until I opened my eyes and saw the pillow sheet. Haha, I can still feel a shallow dent. o_O
