Sorry if there already is one. D;

Just thought it would be cool if we could help me each other with project ideas. ^^

I'll start... I have a Psych independent project I have to do by the end of the semester, but it's in need of approval fairly soon.
I can choose to do a book critique, a term paper (psych essay), or independent research (that pertains to psychology).
I was gonna do a critique of Kafka's The Metamorphosis or Conrad's Heart of Darkness, but the old fart won't let me choose a novella. T__T

Any thoughts on a book, topic, or field research I could pursue? (that wouldn't be too work-intensive... I'M LAZY)

my professor just mentioned 'heart of darkness' today.
i have no clue what it's about...
africa????

psychology... im not so smart when it comes to it... but...
maybe like buddhism, yoga, tantras, etc.
i dont know.
cause they all pertain to inner thought, and inner self.
would that have to do with their psychology?

see, that's why im a poli sci student.

GOOD LUCK.
i'll be back to bug again. tongue.gif

Heart of Darkness plays with the motifs of "good" and "evil" -- and the moral ambiguity that underlies them both.
It's a great read and of novella size, so you could read it in a short amount of time. You should give it a go. ;D

Meditation borders more on the lines of physiology, but there are definitely psychological aspects to it.
It has to do with the bodily and mental state-comparisons with the sleeping cycle. (meditation produces a marked increase in slow alpha waves while conscious)
I don't think it's something I want to base a psychological thesis on, though.
Thanks for the suggestion, anywho. ^^

hm..i think The Metamorphosis wouldn't be too bad. I remember reading that in english class and it seems interesting to write about. I remember when my friends had to do psychology projects like you. I think one of my friends did an experiment where they had people try to read a list of colors and each color was in a different color (idk what the experiment is called). it was confusing but fun! we recently discussed the milgram experiment which also seems like an interesting topic..that's really all i can think of right now..sorry if i wasn't much help!! but good luck!! smile.gif

Yeah, man... there's so much psych in that book.
You could go with the obvious Freudian/psychoanalytic interpretation or in-depth analysis of Gregor's character.
;\

I don't know about doing an experiment... it might be cool, but I think I'm starting to run short on time.
I'd have to do the experiment along with a paper of the experiment.
Eh, I dunno. Maybe if someone suggests something quick and simple. ^^
