I run track right now and I really need to get new sneakers but I'm not sure where or what kind or what company to get them.
What brands would you recommend that are good?
And last year, I found out I was an underpronator so I need sneakers with cushioning, I think?

And also, someone told me I need sneakers made for light runners since I'm somewhere between 100-110 pounds.
I looked online for a few sneakers and found some that said lightweight but I didn't know if it meant lightweight as in the sneaker was light or for the lightweight runner? Or do they mean the same thing? I'm so new at this. hehe blush.gif

And I'm not sure if I'm gonna order them online or go to a store, but any stores/websites anyone can recommend?

Oh, and if this makes it any different, I'm a short to mid-distance runner.

Uh, and for price, anything below 80 would be good.

Thanks biggrin.gif

well, i don't know how much i can help you, but i did track last year so i went through pretty much the same thing (too busy this year. .___. so sad, i really wanted to switch to pole-vaulting from sprints)
and i was pretty much the same stats as you (same weight range, and did sprinting events)

last year, i ended up getting shin splints cuz my old running shoes were horrible...
right now i have new balance running shoes
and most of the people on my team also had new balance.
price range is good too: i found mine on sale for $30-ish i think, at kohl's cuz they just happened to have a sale when i needed shoes.

new balance and nike are the first ones to come to mind for running shoes, but that may be just me.
if i were you, i'd get lightweight shoes too. they're much easier to run in.

stores...go to any shoe store, although your sports' store would have good quality ones although they're really expensive.
i personally tried on so many different shoes when shopping at many different stores (Richard's sporting goods, Sports Authority, DSW shoe warehouse, Kohl's, etc. etc. etc.)

if you're really hard-core or just even want to have them
you could also buy spikes (along w/ running shoes) to use for meets on the track.
**ask your coach if you need them though**

hope i helped

i usually buy the nike brand.
and for stores, i would recommend Bob's Stores or Richard's Sporting Goods.. if you live in the US.

asics is probably the considered the best running shoe company out there...they can be kind of pricey, but they are worth it. i've been running with them for about 5 years and couldn't recomend them more.

Asics! I have a pair and I <3 em. :]
They're pretty light too, and I'm around ~100lbs.
I found mine at Ross for $20. :]
I saw some at Nordstrom Rack too and they're about $30-50, depending on the ones you get.
Good luck with finding shoes~

i thought everyone got shin splints no matter what :x especially sprinters.

i have asics, and they feel SO nice. I have spikes though, so i'm not sure about you haha.
If you're a sprinter, asics or nike is what everyone has, and likes.
if you're a distance runner, try getting someone to recommend something to you, but i really think asics or nike are like the best out there.
my spikes were 54 dollars, 60 with tax @ sports chalet.

brooks, saucony, and asics

personally, i use asics. asics normally clearance their last year models around this time so you should check out online shoe sites for some good deals.

i don't recomment new balance :x i have a pair and they're really uncomfortable to run in. they're supposed to be good for ppl with flat feet, but i dont have flat feet.. probably why i have so many problems now >:/

lots of people on my team have asics and mizuno, and i really like nikes. have fun choosing! i love shopping for running shoes biggrin.gif

i agree, new balance sucks...it made my feet bleed (at the back heel, it wasnt too small either, it was my size). it was so uncomfortable that i just threw them away.

asics are the best...they are pricey but worth it.
