so i went in to see the fitness trainer at my high school 2 days ago about knee pains that were bothering me. my knees hurt sometimes after we do interval training for track and it'd hurt when i run the next day.. so she noticed that my thigh muscles were all on the outside (which is very common, she said) and this could cause me to put stress on my knees so she suggested i focus on building some muscle there.

so anyone have exercises that i can do to help? greatly appreciated smile.gif

Do squats, but point your toes outwards instead of straight ahead. I dunno how beneficial this really is but it feels like it really helps

Lie on your side with your arm reaching towards the front, put your top leg in front of the leg that's on the bottom. Then raise and lower the leg that's underneath. I can't explain it very well but I think it works... unsure.gif Hope that helps!

good inner thigh workout is to lay on your back, put both your legs together up in the air, and then move them apart like a scissor, and then back together. You can keep your legs straight up, or just bend your knees, but i prefer to do it straight. Keep repeating that, I started off doing about 200 a day[100 in the morning, 100 at night] then I moved it up and now I do 400 of those a day or more depending on how I feel. You definitely see an improvement, and they are so easy to do! And they make my legs feel very good. Just remember to stretch before and after!

At least since my high school days my left knee used to bother me. I'd take medicine for it and that'd help but I def need to do some of these workouts for my knee. I also have noticed I drink milk (skim or low fat) and it helps too with the bones in my knee.
