My stuff never comes back the same way whenever I let people borrow my stuff.

For example:
I let a friend borrow a paperback book.
Not only did she give it to me WAY after she was done using it,
all the corners were bent and damaged.

I can honestly say that I rarely come across people who are good borrowers who:
-return it after they're done using whatever I let them borrow
-return it in the condition it was given to them
-doesn't try to keep it for themselves

It irritates me because I'm doing them a favor and I get crap in return,
and it's not like I'm going to make them sign a contract or anything..

Yes, there are accidents and people forget,
but I think I can tell the difference between people who are careless about other people's goods and those who do care.

Now, I think twice before I let people borrow my stuff.

Am I the one who feels this way?

Close to never.

If I let guys borrow my stuff, I want collateral.

If I let girls borrow my stuff, I don't expect anything back, but I warn them like 100x not to damage my stuff or I'll go nuts.

I admit, when someone lends me books or CD's, I usually end up damaging them...

I always let people borrow my stuff even though deep down inside I don't really want to because they usually ask to borrow dvds or cds. In the past I've lent my precious cds and dvds to people and they ended up never returning them because I don't see them anymore or someone stole them. T_T;; But I'm too nice to say no, makes me feel bad.

If I am close to you like
my best friend or family
then I don't mind lending
somethig to you. I had a
girl that I let borrow a cd
and I never got it back.

If it's a close friend or family member that I see often it's no big deal. However if you ask to borrow a pencil during a midterm I'm not giving one to you. I learned this the hard way when I let some guy borrow my fav pencil during a final; of course I never got it back. Just last week I got another pencil jacked from me. I didn't even let her borrow it. This girl's pencil ran out of lead during a midterm so she just took mine off my desk. She didn't even ask! She said o crap gimme ur pencil. She said she was going to give it back and of course she never did. Sigh

Depends what it is. If it's a pen/pencil or something small I'll lend it out to classmates but not to a stranger. Other than that, I rarely let other people use my stuff.

If it's a close friend, I'd let them borrow most things.

ergh.. I try not to lend stuff to the people who tend to "forget" easily or disregard the item. I hate when people touch my stuff and they either break or dirty it up.

I would only lend to CLOSE friends. Last year a "friend" asked me if she could borrow my chem book for the quarter. I did let her borrow it because she was nice, but then afterwards, I realized that this wasn't fair because I paid $100 for it and she gets to use it for free. When the quarter was over, I asked for it back and she ended up letting another friend borrow the book and never notified me. I got the book back and it was all crapped up.

I think if someone borrows something, they should make the effort to keep it clean and bring it back, and not make me come get it.

So yeah. I try not to lend stuff, unless it's to a close friend.

>> I hate when I borrow things from people.
I hate being mean too.
So I just let them borrow it
And I pester them.
Like
MAKE SURE YOU GIVE IT BACK OR ESLE. D<

But what I hate most
Is when you borrow lik, 25 cents from someone
And they're pestering you to pay them back.
><; It's just 25 cents. D;

I usually let people borrow my stuff, trusting that they'd look after it.
Right now though, I let my friend borrow my set of books; and this was months ago. I still don't have it back T___T.
I don't really like borrowing things off other people, even if it's just a rubber during class.
If i really needed something from someone else, I'd actually make an effort to take care of it, after all they were kind enough to let me borrow it.

I'm a selfish person thus I don't like to.
Unless they/re family or REALLY REALLY close with me.
But it also depends on what it is as well.
It's just that I really hate it even if it's just with pens and stuff and they don't even bother asking and just take it. Even my close friends and I ask each other. It's just politeness.

I'm really trusting, and will let basically anyone borrow anything, as long as their in the same room.

Total stranger to close friend, I'll let them borrow it. Friends I can let borrow for whole days, like pens etc. Strangers I tend to get them back after a short while.
