For some reason, Firefox continues to run when I close all the browser windows.
Like if I bring up Task Manager (a.k.a ctrl+alt+del), it shows that there are one or more instances of Firefox.exe still running (usually taking 20-100 MB of system memory).
Anybody know why my Firefox is clogging up my resources?

Question number twooo.
There are random files on my computer that have been having little baby files. (should've used protection firewall)
For example,
in my system32 folder, there are two copies of ctfmon.exe.
"ctfmon.exe" and "ctfmon .exe"... both run at the same time (as told by Task Manager, but not all the time).
But it also happens to other files, such as my Spybot S&D TeaTimer. ("TeaTimer.exe" and "TeaTimer .exe")
Reason for concern?

Is the firefox download window still open? If any of the firefox things are still open it will just keep its memory footprint.
Mine is using 100 mb right now.

It is normal to have multiple instances of tasks in the task manager. Often its like services and all that which require the same name. If you're paranoid scan with a good antivirus since it is a common method to try to hide their existence.
Another option is to google for Process Explorer, that will show you what each process is and why its there. Very neat.
And since I love screenshots here is what mine is running atm.

Nope. Nothing Firefox-related is open.
And I used ProcEx, AdAware Process Viewer, and the Spybot viewer... none of them show anything too crazy (regarding Firefox).

It's just really annoying since I'm working on a system that doesn't have much RAM. (and most of it is usually being used up already)

You might want to consider a browser with a smaller memory footprint. Opera handles ram pretty well. Its often not quite as nice as firefox but I had lots of windows open and my opera only used 12mb of ram compared to the 100 my firefox uses
