But anyway, how tall are you? I just looked up my height converted to inches...and I'm only 5'5 boo. I always thought I was 5'6. Supposedly that's taller in Asians, but I still feel about average height walking around.

I recalled reading somewhere that people that holds higher position such as CEOs are usually taller. CEO on average are about 6', but of course that is not in every case.
The average American height is about 5'9 (175cm) for male and 5'4 (162cm) for female. Asians for male are about 5'7 (170cm) and females are 5'3 (160cm) but varies depending on region.
im about 5'10 or 178 cm.

but in general I'm just average, especially here in California...
I think as long as your body looks roportioned it's okei...you could always use fashion to make you look taller..^-^

i think i had scoliosis as a child and i never got it fixed so it might have contributed to my stunted growth. anyway...whenever i go to job interviews i always wear heels because I don't like being seen as a child. i don't want to be 'cutesy' either..i want to be "beautiful" but i don't know...i'm kind of short ^^;;

people tend to like taller people more and are looked upon more favorably
some people treat me well just because they like tall people
some girls tell me they wouldn't have hung out with me [when i asked them the first time] if i was a shortie
i think being tall has it's advantages... albeit unfair

Stick a ballcap on me and I look like an older, overweight version of Short Round from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" movie.
And to corroborate what watcher says, chicks generally don't dig me.

I wear shoes too and I believe it adds an inch, maybe even two. Unfortunately for me, it's not where I really prefer it to be.

I hate wearing heels....kills my feet gahhh. But if I wear them, I could feel powerful! And tall! I used to wear platforms and feel powerful! (don't mind my incoherentness)

It is a great advantage in sport and also you tend to get a bit more attention in the workplace.
Shorter people make up for their height disadvantage by being more loud. At least some do.

It sucks that I'm so short and I student teach at a high school. Security used to ask me for my hall pass when I'd walk to the teachers' lounge.

i work in a hospital lab and i find self-reported height and weight is often misestimated... every other male will overestimate his height and maybe one in three females will underestimate her weight - i have to pretend i didn't see their little patient details chart and measure/weigh everyone myself just to get their real details.
it's ridiculous, some men who are around the 175cm mark will round up to 180cm not realising that 5cm in height is extremely noticeable around the average height range.
