Hey, I collect rare tamagotchis and I like to keep them in it's original packaging. But I heard that if you don't take out the battery, it can leak while sitting in the tamagotchi for overtime. Is that true???

Also, I have a friend who puts her tamagotchi on pause like for the whole day, I heard the battery can leak like that too? Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

i bought the rakuraku dinokun in its original packaging from ebay, and i think it has been like that for years, the old battery was in there and it did not leak or anything...prolly the plastic strip that is inserted helped...

well, just to be safe, i suggest that you take the batteries off...it's all up to you

Haha problem is, some are plastic sealed and not slide off ones. And I don't want to wreck the original packaging.. =(

so i guess, you can't do anything about it then sleep.gif...hoping that the manufacturers have thoroughly planned the packaging of their product
it could withstand long-term storage...hehe

I would just wait it out. I was going to buy it at that price, but I think it will go lower=]

I wish they would install some light-up feature, so you can play with it at night time ^^

And is it just me or did they change the tamagotchis sleeping time to whenever it hits 9pmish? I notice no matter when I first open them, they will always sleep at 9pmish.

I remember I used to have tamagochi when I was 6 years old and still my tamagochi is one of my treasures that I can give to my future children.

LOL in sixth grade I had one of these V. 2 and my friend debugged it or something so that i can fast forward i played with it for hours since i could fast forward
I got bored and pulled off the middle button thinking i could just push it back in. Well i was wrong that's how my tamagotchi died, the middle button wouldn't work anymore but that game was addicting!
it was 20 dollars too =.=
