are the SAT & ACT tests accurate measures of a student's knowledge?
should the legal driving age be changed? (i think it's 18 now)
should physical education be mandated for high school juniors & seniors? (at my school it isn't..)
should schools be allowed to sell sodas/other-fat-obesity-related-food-school-stuff?
eh. i'm brain dead right now.

Should prostitution be legalized? Personally, I think it should be. (And yes, I am a woman)
Should marijuana be legalized?
Is the college ranking system a good idea? Would colleges stop focusing on academics and more on getting better ranks? (Example: Because Princeton is ranked #1 in U.S News, does it mean that it's a much better college than Brown, which is ranked#14?)
Why Asians should embrace the word "yellow" just as African Americans embrace the word "black."
Should class ranks exist, or does it create too much unnecessary stress / pressure on students?
Should the class level system remain implemented? (Like, honors, AP, college options, consultant, etc) Would it create a sense of elitism in the upper class levels that would bite them in the arse when they get out into the real world?
Should parents approach a more helicopter parent approach (constantly monitor son/daughter's every academic move, decide what level class they are going to take) or should parents be more laissez faire in a child's school.
Should we, as Americans, really be encouraging cheaper gas prices....but at the same time be encouraging a more "green" environment?
Should the alcohol drinking age be lowered?
Is the supposed "glass ceiling" actually a fault of society? Or is it women's own fault. Do we create the glass ceiling for ourselves as an excuse?
Should we have condoms in the school bathrooms?
Should we advocate an abstinence-only program in school?
Does using poor grammar online (lol, wth, r u serios!?) affect academics?
We as a society should pay serious attention to the clothes people wear because they not only reveal a person's unique-ness, but also a shift in society's norms and beliefs as well.
Why are video games are good for the heart and soul?
Or, you can do something along the lines (just don't steal his idea of using snails) of what my best friend did for his speech piece. He won a state championship using this topic:
He wrote about why snails were bad and taking over the world. The entire speech was a parody of how society makes big deals out of stupid little stuff (like who's pregnant in Hollywood) and at the end, he said something like: "Of course, we've got to keep a relentless vigil on these fatal snails. I mean, it's not like we've got anything else to worry about...like global warming or world hunger."
So in all, he wrote about snails taking over the world to convince the audience how society makes big deal out of small, unimportant things.
