i've had 2 ipods in the past and both experiences were okay.
but now, i need a new mp3/ipod due to lack of space.
and right now, the battle is on between the

SAMSUNG P2

and


The iTouch

i'm not sure tho..
tell me more about how the p2 is better.
i like it cuz its touch and its small

I have the ITouch and i must say..O_O it's incredible..it's very elegant, very easy to use, and has a LOT of functions!

And still..here we don't have wi-fi everywhere, but in US i think you have it, right?O_o having internet everywhere is like...wow! XD

But I don't really know the other one, so..XD i don't know

I've had the 16 gig iTouch since December and I love it. x) <3 It's fun to play with, and the wifi's really convenient, haha. It's weird, but I use it to look up stuff that I wanna buy if there's wifi in the store. XD

I'm not too sure about the P2, but I believe the iPod Touches come in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB nowadays. 32GB's nice if you have a ton of videos/music like me. (Wants to upgrade. ;w;)

i would recommend that you get the itouch. i know a lot of people with that and they don't have anything negative to say about it! besides, apple is an excellent brand and fails to disappoint me.

i mean...not everywhere has wifi...
and the bluetooth= i can take calls from it and share files
u can upgrade it which is much like the itouch jailbreaking.

I don't think they should be compared. The P2 isn't really an Ipod Touch killer. If you want wifi, then go for the Touch.

I almost got the Touch, but went with the P2 because I didn't really need wifi. Plus I like how the P2 looks better. It has a Korean-English dictionary and has bluetooth, so that's pretty handy. =]

the samsung p2 is pretty good on formats. the ipod touch, on the other hand, cant do wma, ogg and for videos, you gotta convert everything to mp4 (mpeg4 or h264), which is a PAIN if you have a lot of videos.

however, i do own the ipod touch, and i like everything about it..except for the thing i mentioned above.

(and btw, its ipod touch and NOT itouch )

I like the P2 more because it's smaller, fantastic screen, supports many formats, customizable to some extent, and good updates. Plus, it's cheaper.

I wouldn't say it's a Touch killer. It's just another player that's competing against the Touch. Choose whichever you think you'll like more.

i love how every touch screen device is an "iphone/touch" killer.

the screen on touch is 3.5in, p2 is only 3in

2nd, the p2 is by no means ugly, but Apple is on top of its game when it comes to minimalistic designs.

the fact that the p2 has an uneven gap on top & bottom is enough to make me never want to buy one.

Apple designed their product to to have an even amount of gaps on the top & bottom, even when turned sideways.

unlike the p2, there is more empty space on the bottom than at the top.

so yeah, buy the p2 if you're short on money.

I bought the iPod touch because I live on campus and we have wifi everywhere so that was a big plus for me. However, even though the screen is fantastic and big, it's still no laptop replacement, so I got tired of it kind of fast. It's nice to have the wifi (for checking e-mails and weather and stuff) but not having it wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

So, if you don't need the wifi, I think it's better to save some money and get the Samsung P2.

My friend has the ipod touch but she got bored of it pretty fast. She barely usely now.

I think you should choose the one you think you'll like.

I bought the P2 (just waiting for it to arrive!^^) I personally like the design of the P2. I never really cared for the ipods. They are way to overrated IMO and everyone has them so you dont really stand out :/

Well, if you are Korean. Go and have a search on naver 지식인 on iPod Touch vs Samsung P2. Really helpful there and very long summaries of pros and cons.

But key to what you said is 'lack of space'.
iPod touch is 8, 16 and now 32 Gb
Samsung P2 is 2, 4, 8 and now 16 GB

I have iPod Touch and I'm loving everything about it. But to fully use it to potential, you have to jailbreak. You can do just about everything once jailbroken. P2 is also releasing something similar so we'll have to see. The only thing is that iPod Touch is pretty expensive + SDK is going to cost further $99+ while P2 is quite cheap compare to iPod Touch + the software development kit is free.

I'm sorry, but I really don't like the iPod Touch.
I suppose I can understand why some people like it, in terms of design it's good.
I like Samsung's P2 design better, but I've always been partial to Samsung's design.
However, iTouch's interface is so annoying. I detest it.
It's a matter of personal preference.
For me, it's Samsung P2 > iPod Touch.
