ok, i went out today and got a 1gb ipod shuffle at walmart. i even got a free $15 gift card for itunes for free!! thus the reason why i chose it over the other mp3 players they had. However, not being bery tech smart, 1gb is 1gb right? a few mp3 players were 1gb but it said that it held like 300 something songs whereas the ipod shuffle only holds 250? is that just their way of marketing? or should i have really gone and bought the one with the 300 something songs?

anyhow since the shuffle has already been bought, might as well try it out right? question though. are there any other places besides itunes where i can download music? especially if it's free downloads? wait, are there even free downloads? HELP! T_T

THANKS AGAIN!!

jhuh:wah!! >_< you make me feel like i should've bought the sansa one that they were selling!!! it was cheaper than the shuffle too. however, i got iffy about it bc i'm not sure whether it was this one or not but some mentioned having a AAA battery and i didn't wanna keep going out to buy some when the battery dies >_<

hmm.. first time posting on this thread. happy.gif please be kind to help a slow person out.

Anyhow, I've got a bit of cash recently and budgetwise, I can only afford an ipod shuffle. at my college, they sell both the 1gb for 250 songs and the 2gb for 500 songs. and since the price has been lowered recently, a 1gb is 50 bucks and the 2gb is 70 bucks. I'm leaning towards getting the 2gb because of the whole another 250 songs for twenty bucks more.

However, does anyone have any experience with an ipod shuffle? are they good? can i download songs into one without having to get them from itunes? also, if downloading songs from other sites work, does anyone know any sites?

thanks a bunch in advance.

i have the oldschool shuffle (the long stick kind), and only 512mb at that biggrin.gif

space-wise, it depends on your need. i'm the kind that listens to 4 songs on repeat, kill them that way, and move on sweatingbullets.gif
you would argue that you can just load your playlist on and listen to what you want at the moment... but a shuffle doesn't have a search function. either you play it "shuffle" order, or in the order you load the songs on.

i would imagine that you can d/l from other sites. but i've heard that ipods can't do the "drop and drag" thing. meaning you need to use itunes to transfer mp3 files after you've d/led them anyway. i use itunes from the start and haven't tried any other method.

i would suggest getting something else. they have plenty of good ones out there for cheap now if you do research on them. ipod is overhyped and i only own one because it was a birthday gift ><

Check out the Sansa Clip wink.gif Its pretty darn cheap and I think the new 4GB one is 80 dollars. Plus, it comes with a screen and other stuff. I don't have it, but it seems to be well regarded for its sound quality too.

I have the first generation iPod shuffle and I honestly liked that one better than the newer ones out now. I thought the design was pretty cute. Anyway the new shuffles are really nice too - I'd get the 2gb one if I needed one. I wish iPods still came in white though - I like white electronics laugh.gif
