so this summer i was outside a lot playing tennis.
and this small light patch of skin on my arm developed.
during the summer, whenever i went outside, 50% of the time i used sunscreen.

i asked a couple of my other friends and they said that it was a sun spot. but then i thought sun spots were brown??
the only thing i know about it is that that patch of skin probably has a lack of melanin compared to the rest of my skin. * this has never occurred before. *

can anyone give me any ideas of what it is and how it can be treated?

i think i'll upload a picture of it later.

I think you should get a real diagnosis from a doctor. 50% of the time is really way too little. Hope it's harmless!

I think it is from the sun.

My friend spends hours out in the sun during the summer and she gets them on her face. I think they go away eventually on their own?

Some people have those... there is no pigment there, the opposite of sun spots, which have too much pigment.
I don't know if they can go away... but if your tan fades then it should be less noticeable

isn't it a white spot caused by pigmentations due to prolong exposure to the sun?

asians are very prone to it. that's why whitening products are so highly sought after.

seems like a white spot. i've ever treated my white spots with a mixture of sulphur and lime juice. must be some old chinese remedy. it actually worked.

I have vitiligo... which is more serious and blotchy and is permanent T__T
But I don't think I should be scaring you with that. It could be a sun spot.
Check with a doctor/dermatologist.
why do you keep strumming on the strings of my heart?

i hear a sad, sad symphony

if it's during the summer then ur white spot is probably cause u sweat but don't wipe it right away. the sweat cause discoloration and if u use some kind of anti bacterial cream it will go away. thats wat my doctor told me.

yea but i doubt urs is the skin condition many others talked of unless its a really obvious white patch bigger than a nail and it spreads pretty quickly
but many ppl hav less visible whiter/darker areas from sun/ their own skin pigmentation
since u said its still that one spot/same size its most likely not

I believe the white spots are from small growths of yeast on your skin which block the sun. It's not dangerous or anything, but just try exfoliating your body and wearing sunscreen frequently. I think they just happen to everyone sometimes.

My parents said that it's because when you're still hot(as in after your tennis or any exercise),cold water or cool water gets in contact with your skin. That's why. I can't remember what my grandmother used on my sis but i think it's aloe vera and some yellow stuff.....sulphur i think and it healed ^^

yea I think I have the same thing as you but on my legs.
I hope is not vintiligo because I'm pretty sure I got this from the sun.
Mine doesn't spread tho all the spots are still in the same place evely distibuted.
My tans last forever!!! I want it to go away soon!!!
I will definitely do what some of you suggested.
