Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum, and I'm also headed to UOP next year as a pre-dental major in the 3+3 program.
I'm in the honors program as well.
has everyone chosen which honors dorm they'll want to live in? Carter or John Ballantyne?

I didn't attend profile day, but I did attend honors welcome day in March

Also, I'm attending the first june orientation.


Oh yeah, and I live in the bay area like some of you guys too!

i was just skimming thru some of the comments and i just wanted to mention about the 'set up classes' the school gives depending on i guess major but i remember i think its just blocked out so if you need the class you for sure have a spot?

yes flamingoogt, theres another housing form other than the honors confirmation slip of paper they mailed us. You can find the housing application in your big housing packet envelope in the back of the folder/booklet.

But I was actual wondering if we had to put our honor dorming choice on that big packet that they sent us because it didn't really have a place to put that I just put honors dorming as my first choice and 2-people dorm for my first choice on the second option but I never put which honors dorm I wanted to be in because I didn't know we were supposed to request which dorm we wanted.

john ballantyne houses more people. & yes, they're right next to each other. there's a map in the back of that housing packet they gave us right next to where they put the housing contract forms & stuff.

ballantyne and carter are next to each other.. i'm 95% sure hahaha i believe ballantyne is a bit bigger than carter... or maybe the other way around.. =X i forgot haha but one is bigger than the other..

lol. Yeah, Ballantyne and Carter are right next to each other.
Also, I know that even if you live in Ballantyne..
You can still use your key to get into the Carter building!
(and the same vice versa---b/c they're in the same community thing)

Pros/ Cons of Ballantyne and Carter

• Ballantyne is nicer in the common room areas (renovated 2 years ago.. I think). However, their dorm rooms are exactly the same as Carter.
• Ballantyne is slightly larger than Carter. (When I went to visit it on Profile Day, I noticed that Ballantyne's hallway is shaped like an "L"... while Carter is like a straight hallway)
• Carter is a better study environment
• Ballantyne is more social environment

note: As I said earlier, I picked Carter for my first choice. ;D

and also, have you guys turned in your housing forms? i want to turn mine in quickly because i want my first choice, but i dont know whether i should try and get a roommate or just hope for the best... did you guys get your roommates yet?

^ maybe its different for guys but i like getting my physical (: i get to find out my height & weight (sure, i can find that out at home, but its not as accurate or reliable ^^,)
