To answer some questions that I've read:
- A couple of my friends are doing MBA right now and they seem to be enjoying it somewhat. I hear it's a pretty close-knit group since there aren't that many students who choose to do MBA at UOP in the first place. They basically have the same breaks and days off as the other College of the Pacific students, but they get Fridays off. Later on, eventually, they'll use up those Fridays to fulfill their internships. They don't seem to really follow the semester system fully though. They have a certain batch of courses they take for a couple weeks at a time. So once they're finished with one batch, they'll just move on to the next batch. Something like that. They have a lot of projects and group work. That's pretty much all I know about MBA at this point.
- If you want to figure out classes and such, I guess the best thing to do is ask your faculty advisor or student advisor for help during Orientation. They're pretty nice about things so you can ask them all the questions you want. I don't think they're going to specifically tell each student what their standing is. You can usually find this stuff out on your InsidePacific account or on your transcripts. They'll state your standing and how many transfer units you received from already-completed college course work.
- As for studying abroad, as long as you meet the GPA requirement and there's space in the program you apply for, you'll be set to go. It's not that difficult to study abroad because I see a lot of students doing it. And they have people at the Internation Studies building that can help you figure out all the housing and financial aid for studying abroad too so I don't think you have to worry too much about that stuff.
- The bathrooms are all a little bit different depending on the specific dorm. I lived at Wemyss and Werner and both of them had okay shower stalls with decent privacy.
- Don't expect too much from the malls here in Stockton. They don't even come close to Valley Fair in my opinion. Although they have been doing a lot of remodeling so they're starting to look a bit nicer from the outside. There's not that many stores and it's just one story. If you want to do some real shopping, you'll probably have to drive out of the city for sure. HCO is Hollister Co. I know there's a Gap, but I don't think we have a Banana Republic.
- A lot of my friends seem to like Tsing Tao (sp?) on Hammer Lane. I've only been there once so I can't really judge from that, but others seem to like it.
- The Downtown movie theatre is not near the malls nor is it walking distance from school. You'll probably need to take the bus or catch a ride with someone if you don't have a car.
