haha yeah. Moe, Chris and I actually met through soompi and became friends when we got to school. (Moe is actually sitting next to me in chem class right now).
No, you do not need to pay extra to be in the honors programs.. However, you need to do some extra stuff. For example, take one honors GE class (although this can still be used for the GEs you're required to take)...also you take honors PACS (Pacific Seminar) instead of regular...and I think you need to do some sort of honors project later sophomore year. I don't much about it though b/c I'm a freshman.
However, keep in mind that you can always drop the honors program. There are a lot of people that join the honors program freshman year just so that they can get into honors dorms (there are two: Carter and John

sounds so fun!! you guys are on soompi during class?! haha tsk tsk
so your only in dorms for the first year? the honors program sounds like a pain, are there any regular dorm halls that are good, quiet and peaceful?

hehe ^^;; It has been really nice meeting people before school actually started. Most of the people I met on soompi actually ended up living in the honors dorms (lot from Carter..except moeee b/c she's in John B ), so I see a lot of them around. ^^;
Yeahhh, you only can live in the freshman honors dorms during your first year. Technically you could stay there other years if you want to be an honors peer or an RA... but I don't know too much information about that. I don't know too much about the other dorms either. I just know that South West is a really big dorm (therefore, very social and louddd)... Also, the dorms that most honors people in their second year go to live in is Jessie B.
Honors program isn't really too bad so far though. I think it's pretty manageable.

i personally like john b & carter because we actually stick to our quiet hours.. haha umm.. southwest is kind of known as a party house? the floors are co-ed and it isn't in the quad.. it's right next to the library.. ummm... o.O i dont really know any other ones. lol! there's grace covell.. i think it's another big hall... iono haha i will visit all the dorms before i graduate! =D and i think the pharm students (not pre-pharm) get to live across the bridge in brookside apartments.. which should be good since the pharm school is across the bridge. haha & if you're not in pharm, you can still live across the bridge in monagan apartments. but i think it's only for seniors... O.o? iono haha but it's for upper classmen.

i dont think pre pharm is that hard.. unless you're in the 2+3 haha. cause the other years (3+3 & 4+3) don't have to take bio & chem at the same time. x] bio + chem = killer.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO APPLIED! (: i'm excited for you guys! =D
& for my essay, i was a little under 500, so i had my friend edit it for me.. making it a little over 500. haha =X

The only two I can think of atm are mcconchie, but it's really far from all the science classroom buildings; and cowell (two flights of stairs to get to the rooms, and it's also a bit far from the classroom buildings, but you get your own bathroom).
and you don't need to be in honors program to live in carter or john b. I know a couple people who aren't honors, but they requested to live there and managed to get in. and same thing with honors students; you aren't forced to live in an honors dorm.

Yep, they come out in March. Also, don't be worried if they don't come exactly that day... or even week. My brother got his acceptance through the mail 3 weeks after March 15.

Mmm so i got in to the 2+3 pre-pharm program. and i've been glancing at the thread as to not repeat the same questions already asked. (haha but it's kinda hard) i got most of it answered, but i have some of my own (haha sorry if they are repeats ><)
i got the $10,000 scholarship and i've heard that it costs about 50K to attend UOP. so does that mean my parents pay 40K? or do they pay 30K?
and uh well decisions for other schools for me haven't come out yet, but for those who are already in the 2+3 year program, what school did you choose UOP/pre-pharm program over and do you regret it?
and what is the honors program like? I'm kind of worried b/c 5 years seem already really intense --'' (i honestly wanted the 6 year program. lol. because i didn't want another 4 more years of my high school intense academically filled experience again. --'')
