So, do you? And if you do, were you born in the U.S. or in a different country?
[I haven't met anyone that was born in the U.S. and had an accent]

I do. biggrin.gif
At least...that's what some of my friends say. It's really...light though. I wasn't born in the U.S. so maybe that's why.
Is it possible to get rid of an accent?

Well, discuss? biggrin.gif

i think my only accent is a slight texan accent. born in texas
you can probably tell because someone "trained" me to start saying ya'll
i lived in california for a while and picked up there way to talking. when i moved back to texas they noticed i was saying "you guys" and decided to make me say "ya'll"

when i go visit Cali i ask them if i had an accent and they said no. new people i met there didn't know i was from texas...from the way i speak

different dialects, different accents

Before I moved down south from New England, I honestly never knew that there were different accents in the U.S. o_O Then when we moved, things changed. I started hearing, "Hey y'all" and all that stuff.

Apparently, there's the Chicago accent, Boston accent, NY accent, southern accent, midwest, etc etc etc !

YES I DO.When I speak English, Cambodian, Korean (fangirl phrases!), and Spanish!! My accent is horrible. My teacher was even freaking out at me because I mispronounced "Esteban" today in philosophy class! I need speech classes.
