I am not offically sure if I have gotten rejected from one of the colleges that i applied to yet, but just incase I do I was wondering if i do appeal what are the chances of me getting in? Is it high or low? And usually how long does it take to hear back?
Thanks smile.gif

The chances of getting in are extremely low. You'll have to have a very good reason for why you deserve a second chance. From what I've read, usually less than 100 decisions are reversed [for the UCs anyways]. I think appeal replies varies, but they can't guarantee that they'll reply before May 1 so it's a pretty risky deal. I know that the UCs usually try to reply within three weeks or something. Anyways, if you're going to appeal then make sure you send in your letter before the deadline... you can find information on how to appeal to your school at their website.

x`ind, that's so awesome! Where'd you appeal and get into?

I'm appealing to a few schools. But like tears said, the chances are super low for any school. I know UC Berkeley and LA always receive more than 1000 appeals letters and they both accept less than 100. 10 percent! That's pretty low. Just make sure your appeal is bombin and you'll be fine. And it doesn't hurt to try... except money you pay for the stamps, hahah.

Good luck! :]

Appealing is just asking a college that has rejected you to reconsider their decision by giving them a few reasons that you might have missed in your original applications. If you look at the responses in the thread, you'll see that appeals are usually unsuccessful.

^ it's actually "appealing" not "repealing"
but yeah, you have to write another letter to the college and give new and compelling information that was not apparent in your application.
& you have to send them transcripts, supporting documents, and optional letters of rec.
