So I waxed my upper lip last night and woke up with a painful, red face rash.
It's never happened to me before and I think I got it not because of allergies but because I accidentally waxed it when my skin was most sensitive (after a shower)

Well after waxing sensitive areas, it can get really itchy. You might've scratched at it a lot while you were sleeping and didn't know?
I suggest aloe vera or cocoa butter. You can get them at your local drug store. But as far as something from home, I can only think of maybe putting ice on it to cool it down and don't expose it to sunlight.

wow, your skin must be really sensitive. XD
1. numb your skin with ice first?
2. wax..
3. rub oil/vasoline on the area you've waxed
maybe that will help.

Did you do it yourself?
My friend had hers professionally done, and the hairdresser or whoever did them, burned her skin with the wax. It looked like she got an extreme rug burn over her eyebrows (although you didn't do your eyebrows, but its pretty much same concept.) It went away within a week for her.

Yes I did it myself. Thanks for all your suggestions guys! however, after putting on vasoline last night and going to sleep, i woke up with the redness gone, but the dryness still there and the area has actually darkened. Please tell me this is normal and it'll go away
Oh, and a side note. I've actually waxed this area myself using the same brand of wax numerous times before. This is the first time I've gotten a rash.
