I've read that turmeric powder has anti-inflammatory effects, but haven't heard about using it for acne... my mom use to dab it on my scratches/cuts when I was younger so that they "won't leave scars"... never understood it before, but it kind of make sense now. Yup, the yellow colour is quite vibrant...

Indians use it in several beauty products and regimens. They use a different one though, which doesn't stain. It is called 'Kasthuri/Kasturi Manjal' in Hindi. A cousin of mine used Turmeric and Red Sandalwood with milk, and it did wonders for her. Cured her acne completely, and her skin resembles Korean women's skin in that its sort of milky white
Also, she has absolutely no hair growth on her face anymore.

I actually tried this before! It did help my acne quite a bit, but after three weeks? or so I got lazy and stopped.
What I did was mix a little amount with water ( no exact measurements >.<) as long as it wasn't too dilute or too thick and then i spread this all over my clean face before going to sleep. I would leave it on overnight and sleep with a dark colored towel because I toss and turn quite a bit. BEWARE: this stains EVERYTHING! In the morning, I would use milk (regular milk, nothing fancy) so remove it. MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THIS WELL! I remember someone asking me if i had hi-lighter on my face D: I found this made it much easier to remove than just water. Then I would rinse with water and I'm set!
I've also heard of people drinking a mix of turmeric and water in the morning to clear their insides as well as acne. Haven't personally tried this but doesn't seem to hurt.
