If You're Not Korean/asian... how'd you get interested in korean/asian music?

lol well two friends -one is korean- told me check out these groups.

the first friend-who's korean- showed me super junior's haengbok x]

the second showed me ft island's MV where jong hun's is the really good looking bodyguard..siiiigh ^^-

but ANYWAYS heheh that's how i got into the k-world

Korean Dramas -> OSTs -> MSN buddy -> Soompi.

I was wary of Kpop, but wasn't ever really into it until I was introduced to Soompi.

at first, like a year ago
the only korean artists
i knew a little about was
BoA and Se7en >.<

my korean friend sent me
super junior's haenbok mv
i thought it was a bit fruity
and weird at first, yet i couldnt
stop watching the video ".__.

and from there it just
skyrocketed i guess lol

what a funny question to all of us
um idk really. i just listened to one korean song then suddenly .. tada!
i blame jang nara .. all of a sudden her mv appeared on tv a long long time ago and that's how i got into korean music!
also bi rain .. haha .. i listened to his songs after watching full house on tvb
but before that, i listened to a lot of american music .. especially those bands

I discovered Love Letter and I started to watch it really much, after that I started to watch Xman.
So I was aware of kpop all the time but then Wonder Girls came and they pretty much introduced me to kpop.

Well I bought the rpg game Kindgom Hearts when it was first released in 01/02 and I really loved the intro song. I found out that the singer was Utada Hikaru. I started listening to her music and started searching for more asian music. I stumbled accross Boa and Se7en and really liked them.
Thats how I started liking kmusic : P very random really.

I wasn't really interested before in korean music. But watching k-dramas got me into it through the dramas' ost's. I found suju,snsd and others, and currently addicted to it. =_=

then i started to branch out and started listening to more artists and watching dramas & movies.

for me because of the beautiful MV behind every song!!!instantly i was hooked then started searching and listening to some of the great artist,,then for the soundtrack of their series

it after watching HOT's outside castle mv that i became interested in it..
cause it was something new and it reminded me of anime shows cause of their hair..
then i got hooked..
i think it's also because only a few are interested in it in my area that's why i became interested in it..

i got interested in kpop because of the popularity of kdramas here. i was finding some OST and BAM! thre you go. ehe

I'm Asian but not Korean and i listen to Kpop, Jpop/Jrock and Cpop. First i was into Cpop because i grew up with it and then Jpop from anime and then BoA was the first Korean artist i heard and then BoA got me into other artists in SM Town and also YG Family hehe.

watched "Rooftop Room Cat" & "Country Princess" while surfing my tv, got addicted then saw "Young Gunz" mv by Shinhwa, googled them online..found AF..got addicted to other kdramas (Full House), then pairing of the dramas (Bikyo), got into Kpop (Bi) since then I just got caught up into more & more of Korean Entertainment, found soompi when I was voting for SHK for Soompi Queen.
Since then I have been addicted to Soompi.

I am Chinese and I actually got to know Soompi and Kpop, Kdrama through reading fanfics.
Even now I am not really into the whole Korean Entertainment industry, but I know enough just to carry a conversation with people who are obsess (aka my sister with big bang)
Even though Soompi is so Korean bias, its still my favorite forum. Most people are nice here, unlike other forums, where people bash like crazy.

I'm Chinese! My sis introduced me some music of dbsk!

Soompi was the only forum that had allot off information about them!
but I didn't know that soompi had know allot of other singers!
I found new bands ~~aka new hot guys~~
since then I am hooked with dbsk and soompi
