Well i don't know about his pre-debut days. i just heard some clips of him singing which I like but from what I see, I see a very confident guy that knows he can sing & dance & is trying to prove himself to ppl that he deserves to be part of the group.
Which to me is a plus. I like seeing someone confident. He doesn't need to prove to me anything. He deserves to be in the group. Plus other than Hankyung he is the next person that can speak Chinese fluently (yea I know his Chinese)...So he is needed to help the group.

exactly. he's a confident person and i think that's what gets him such polar opinions. i personally see nothing wrong w. that, but i get a little worried about him 'cause, as a new member, he's expected to keep quiet and let the ones w. experience, aka geng, do the talking. but that's just not how zhoumi rolls; he mcs, for god's sake. he wants attention and to speak for himself, and he's not getting that 'cause everyone's all ONLY13 and hating on him. and that attention.seeking bothers people.

They are even saying that Henry cannot speak Chinese but he can.. is it perfect maybe not but he still can speak it.

well, he can't. not really, anyway. his mandarin sounds fluent and he has no accent (well, he speaks taiwan mandarin, so i guess he has a flat accent), but he can't form complete sentences off the top of his head. like that one.. sina interview, in which he almost intro'd himself twice until someone, i think geng, cut him off. and the sohu one, the first one, he started off saying he was born in canada, but the way he structured the sentence made it difficult for him to finish.
i really wanna hear more of henry, though. i love his voice, and he's so squishy '~'

^ People keep asking that, but I don't think so? I think he understands both languages (Mandarin and Cantonese) to an extent, but he can't form sentences like clicheterms pointed out.

Actually, Jumyuk also gave me a weird vibe. Its not really that I'm against him joining Super Junior M, but somehow something about him is just weird.

I think its the trying to attract attention vibe. Something about him just doesn't feel natural.

But I guess I can't blame him. I mean other than Han Geng, he's the only one else who knows how to speak Chinese, so I guess he has a lot to carry.
Maybe its also because he's been trained as a host? So he's kind of programmed to want to fill in empty gaps in conversation. HAHA
But then from an outsider's perspective, it may feel like he's trying to snatch screentime and talk as much as possible.

I agree with everything you said there. It's not that I dislike the guy for joining SJM - I support Henry + Super Junior after all - but there's something about him that bothers me. Like others, I'm trying to like him, but something about him puts me off. :S I mean, confidence is good, but too much isn't good. And for now, that's what it seems like. It feels like he's trying too hard, you know?

I love this interview! Ryeowook and Zhou Mi seem so close. Their blunders were so cute and Hangeng is so happy. After this I definately warmed up to Zhou Mi a lot. I think Henry(he's so cute) can listen and understand mandarin, however he definately can't speak it very well. It's kind of the same with me and cantonese. SIWONNIE! was hilarious, he is the king of facial expressions!!!!! When their album comes out I am definately buying a copy. SUJUM FIGHTING!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Henry is Taiwanese....So he seems to know more Manderin.

I think Henrys pronouciation is super good. He has like no accent at all. However, he has limited vocabulary and he can really think of things to say.


I'm starting to like Zhou Mi. I agree with everyone, that he has a vibe about him. But after watching more videos it seems lke hes a real fun enthusiastic guy xD Bleh, Before debut haters. Well everyone can change~ ZM seems like a cool guy xD <3

Regarding Super Junior fans being split:
Well I know I am starting to feel split...Now I will always love Super Junior all 13 of them but the way things are going right now & how some ONLY13 fans are starting to act (not saying all just some) I'm really starting to just lean more into Super Junior-M..Just wish some ppl will just let it go. I mean leave Henry & ZhouMi alone it's not there fault. Remember if anything it's LSM fault. I'm annoyed with LSM for breaking his promise.

sorry for cutting your post...but I gotta agree with you on the banner thing.
I don't know but I think a lot of us Super Junior-M fans that support all 7 members get kinda annoyed with the banner.
I mean I think that could be one of the reasons why the argument doesn't really die is because some of us who support all 7 members are annoyed with a banner that shows the ONLY5 thing & quotes saying "This is how Super Junior M should really be" or something along those lines...
We find it irritating because Super Junior M is 7 ppl, not 5.

I mean please be respectful to us that support all 7. How would ONLY13 fans feel if someone created a banner saying "Super Junior is 15" & then a group picture with Henry & ZhouMi added in...trust me I know they will not like it...

Well in away he is trying hard because I mean he knows ppl don't like him much so he is just trying hard to impress them but maybe he should just tone it down a little. im not a Suju follower but i keep up with certain members.

but Suju M got my attention, first and foremost because of the new members. i mean, if you're doing sub-group of a group, you take out members from the group not add new members. but then, i felt pity for the two members when i was browsing some pics in baidu. this fan had caps of the group doing something -not sure- but both Henry's and ZhouMi's faces were blurred.

it was incredibly disrespectful of two ppl trying to fulfill a dream. just my take on it.

as for the MV, i like it better than the first one. no one stood out for me cause i think all of them were given spaces to shine. [well okay, i found donghae's rap completely worthy of drool. heehee]

oh, and im developing this "noona feeling" for Henry. like a big sister wanting him to be liked by ppl. dont know why.

I know I'm completely late on this...but. WOW. 至少还有你 was totally beautiful and amazing. I just heard it and omg it sounds really good. (Zhou Mi's voice is incredible, btw.) Call me crazy, but i think I can cry. o_o Ive liked that song since I was little, so its so awesome hearing Super Junior M singing to it. Gah, The anticipation is totally killing me.
