Apparently, Henry HAS NEVER been to China before,
his parents were both from China,
but cos Henry was living in Canada, he didnt got that chance to visit China.
Hankyung said that, Henry is very excited when he reached the airport.
and in the areoplane, Hankyung is so tired but Henry is sooo excited, he keep asking things NON-STOP.

Standard Cantonese has nine tones in six distinct tone contours. It also has retained alot of consonant endings, example: "saam, sik, gap, duk, baat" and 'ts, dz' is more commonly used as opposed to ' ch, sh'. But then =, people complain it sounds kinda hard on the ears..

there's just more variation in the tones, some people say it's more... musical. but techniquely its the same as mandarin in that it's structurally the same, so basically it's just learning a different pronunciation



ah no. cantonese has ALWAYS been just a dialect, like shanghainese etc. it was NEVER in competition with madarin as the official language.

i wouldn't mind them entering the cantonese market, but it seems like a bit of a backward move since the mandarin market is obviously a lot bigger, and as can be seen many hk artists are learning mandarin to enter the chinese market, so yeah... it'll probably be just one or two songs tho, but that's still cool. =)

Actually from what I've read, mandarin is 800 years old whereas Cantonese has an astounding age of 5000. It's proven that ancient Chinese is more similar to Cantonese. Chinese is often considered as a family of languages instead of being one distinct language. Because both Cantonese and Mandarin are mutually intelligible, linguists often consider them as separate languages.

(Strictly hearsay) About Mandarin being the official language of China, apparently they held a voting session to see which language they'd choose; Cantonese or Mandarin. These two languages were the most commonly spoken ones in China; Cantonese at the south and Mandarin at the north. Rumours persist that Mandarin won by a vote, despite Sun Yat Sen being a cantonese speaker himself. (Strictly Hearsay)


Cantonese is generally regarded as a more difficult language/dialect than mandarin, considering the amount of tones and the variety of consonants in the beginning and ending of the word, thus making it harder to pronounce.

i'm pretty sure #9 is haengbok. the chinese articles said there'd be a remake of it. i'd be pretty surprised if #4 isn't a miracle remake as well.

do you think all the remakes will be rearranged? to be honest, i was surprsised when they rearranged U because ithought Sm would just be cheap and have just the vocals redone, but in the end i was happy because music-wise, the second version is better than the first IMO.

it'd be nice if we got new arrangements for all the remakes. if it happens, i'll LOL if they put in random henry violin breaks in all the songs.

does anyone know if henry actually did play the violin for the recording of don't don and u remake? like, is it him we hear on the cd, or is it the same case as younha where somebody else does it on the cd but then he does it on stage?

I'm glad too, because everytime I see him in clips I always feel that he doesn't get much attention & that he is by himself. Like I mention & outcast because everyone knows Henry already & are close but ZhouMi seems lonely.
So I'm glad he has Kyuhyun.
They are my next favorite pairing. GO KyuMi (ZhouHyun) whichever one.

Also with ZM whispering in Kyuhyun's ear I think it's because ZhouMi is learning Korean or he knows some Korean & he is probably just helping out Kyuhyun whom is still learning Mandarin.

kyuhyun said "fu wu yuanr" which means waiter/waitress/service... AHAHAH i loved that part. that was when they were making all of them say things in the beijing accent. at first they made ryeowook say it, and then hangeng was like "oh kyuhyun does it better!" and then they make kyuhyun say something with a beijing accent (which is basically adding an "er" sound to the end of some phrases) and kyuhyun does it PERFECTLY LOL. and then when everyone asked him how he did it so perfectly, he says because of all his experience going to chinese restaurants (or something along those lines) LOL
