brennan, which other placement tests do you have to take? did riverside notify you about the placement tests after you submitted the SIR?

Why yes Victoria, they did lol. In MyUCR it was under the "Reminders" drop down list, it told me to take the MAE test...however it doesn't list every test you need to take. You and I need to take the MAE, Foreign Language, and English test. I already took the MAE and Foreign language one though, I just need to take the English one.

Yeah you get to choose, it depends on what you took the most in your highschool I think...and as for the math, well all kinds of different ones were on there.

Go here http://mdtp.ucsd.edu/crtest/...and when you start taking the test, click save and quit and you can see the different kinds of subjects on this little chart.

word of advice. if u want good classes, go to one of the earlier orientation. and it'll be hot and all u do is
walk around, spend the night [bring ur own blanket and pillow they dont wash them] check in ur classes,
and u guys gotta wake up early the next day sleep.gif. at night u can do what u want but that doesnt start til
10ish. u guys will have to do a few stupid activities. by the way, some of the tour guides will make u guys
walk the long way instead of using shortcuts. when i went he used shortcuts to avoid the sun. btw, today
was 90 something so yeah it gets hotter.

oh and how do they separate us up into groups (like by last name, etc...) or do we all go as one big group?

also, did anyone apply for honors? what did you write in the section where it asks what difficult sitation you've been through and how you got through it or something like that?

I can't decide whether i should apply or not ><

One of my friends apply to the honors program and he got accepted. He's like super excited and he's done with applying and everything, signed up for summer courses for a jump start, etc. What a nerd, but yeaaa, he says that the honors kids get their own dorms or something like that and they have first choice at classes but they can't work while in the program. O.O That takes all the fun out of being a struggling college student, lol...

Oh yea, when can up sign up for the spending the night stuff? or is it too early...lol

His GPA isn't much more than mine, should be at least 4.0 weighted I think the requirement is it has to be above a 3.5, I'm not sure weighted or unweighted. His SAT was over 1600, I think but not much. Does that help at all? Lol, I'm quite bad with details.

Oh, how do you sign up for orientation btw?

I think kieon posted a link to sign up for it on page 5. it's like orientation.ucr.edu or something like that i don't have it on top of my head. Yep, see if you can sign up for the 7/14-15 one lol, cuse that's when me and another girl on here will be going .

I'm for sure going there next semester too.

I just switched over from Asian American Studies to Pre-Business, but I'm still going to CHASS.

I REALLY want to dorm at Pentland Hills.

Anyone not mind a kdramaing roomie who loves shin ramen?

On a side note, I'm actually REALLY worried about food! Like... if we don't choose a meal plan, will we starve to death? Because I heard Pentland had a kitchen, so I was hoping to have cooked meals a couple times a week...

Gosh, reading everyone's excitement about living the dorms and non excitement makes me want to dorm. Lol, I knew some people you dormed and they told me it was fun and totally worth it. My mom says I should dorm if I can raise enough scholarship money and what not on my own.>.<

We should put mini bios here and see if we're compatible to dorm even though I probably won't....T.T

I wouldn't worry too much about food, unless you have a large appetite. If so, then I suppose Flex-max will suit you, since I think that is the most flexible and yet the most expensive. I'll probably go with flex-10...since my eating schedule is really random. Sometimes a meal a day, sometimes two meals.

I need a roommate too. ;[ I kinda don't want to do the survey thing.
Anyways, hopefully we can all meet up some how and get to know eachother?

Cool, I guess i'll be attending orientation on the 14th-15th. See you other soompiers(?) there!

^ I agree, everyone here is seems so friendly, so its probably better to find a roommate here than pair up with a random roommate that the school chooses for you. Then again, we might get lucky and get randomly paired with the greatest roommate anyone could ever ask for.
