here are some of the welcome week activities:
college orientations, academic wellness sessions, resnet information sessions, chancellor's convocation, riverside tally and tailgate party(what are these two?)


ok so do we have to do all this stuff, they sound "mandatory" lol because i was hoping to just wonder around campus and not have to like go to activities and stuff ><

Orientation is mandatory, I think, but that happens NOW during BearFacts.
Nothing else is mandatory.


I would go to tailgate party, though... just go down to the road between A&I and the Gym.

&no, not all the events are mandatory. It's just like that because classes start the 25th... but you move in Sunday [I believe].. so there's stuff for people to do.


For MY first week, I remember I was stuck in a four hour raid and I couldn't make it out to some activities.. XD.


BTW... for Freshman there is ONE mandatory orientation.

But yes, I know where those are. They are the two tall buildings you see coming up the 60.
They are in the same area as University Village plaza, across the street from Grand Marc.



But as far as I know, those are not on-campus apartments and are not affiliated with UCR. lol.

RawrRawr omigosh thanks so much! LOL! But it turns out I'm living in a LOUNGE O_O My roomie says that she saw it during Summer Bridge.. So I guess that's good? Is it biggg? Oh how I wonder...

But anywho, I just reread my assignment and it says "Number of Roommate: 3" O__________O Does that mean I have THREE other roommates? Cause if so, then that's.. quite a lot.. OH NOOOOOO Now I'm just nervous. LOLOLOL! Three other roomies is ... a lot. And AHH I didn't get my packet yet ._. UCR sucks at mailing stuff to my home.. it takes forever. SIGHS.

Also, HAHA I have so many questions! SRY! But I was just wondering about the housing payment thing. See, on GROWL I have TWO balances and yeahh... I'm just confused. When is the housing payment due? O_O

Lounge...Huh. I heard about this before, but... that's really kind of disturbing to know about from UCR, being overcrowded like that. Anyhow, I heard they just put 2 bunk beds and somehow do some closets in the lounge. I think the desks are either one giant desk so everyone can work together, kindergarten style. It might depend on the dorm you're living in though.

On the bright side, I do believe your room will be bigger than the Triples, the square area from the loft included.

When you say two balances, do you mean the two balances called "Outstanding Balance" and "Balance due by 9/15/2008"? Outstanding is your total balance. Balance due is how much MUST be paid by that time (The balance marked there is your complete Res Hall Payments, and tuition along with any other fees. I'm pretty sure these need to be paid by 9/15). Outstanding needs to be paid...well, sooner or later. It's your total payment due, so for example, if you didn't pay for your MAE yet, then your Outstanding would be higher than the "Due By" one.

And woo, college starting... I just want to get away from my parents for a while, really.

^ i thought outstanding balance was the money that was to be refunded to us. (like the extra financial aid money that was not used). cus my balance shows up as $0 and my outstanding balance shows up as credit and it increased once they refunded the health insurance money to me.

Check your GROWL, and check to see if there's a line about Parking, or if your Res Hall Payments are higher than about 3000(Well, mine are 3k and I'm living in a double in West Lothian).

There's nothing about Parking. I'm living in a double in East Lothian. My Res Hall Payment is $3,180.00. I don't think it's included in there even though it should be. o_o?

Housing Balance is how much you need to pay for housing only. Outstanding is both Housing and Tuition at the same time. They're different balances, in the fact that Outstanding incorporates both. Easy way out: Pay the outstanding balance only. That'll clear off both.

Ripped off...depends if you like living with 3 other people in a thing that is not really supposed to be a room at all. You'll be at a disadvantage somewhat, but at the same time, you'll at least be making friends faster than alot of us doublers.

O_O Yeah, my balance used to be about nearly 5grand but then I changed my housing payment plan from QUARTERLY to MONTHLY and then it completely went down and so I'm just confuzzled ._.
