Another question. How do you know what professor you have -_____-;;
I have my schedule sheet but it doesn't say anything about professors haha!

They actually have catalogues inside the store that shows what textbooks you need for what class. But, I strongly suggest you go to the class first and find out what books you need then go buy them because there may be some textbooks listed that you may not need.

When you click on the class you registered for in http://classes.ucr.edu info pop up the bottom of the page under Details. Under that is Call no. than instructor which is the professor's name. Some of them don't have the actual instructors name but who's in charge of the department for classes like english. Although, I have no idea why.

It depends.
Usually you'll be fine just ordering used books online... go to the library if there is a problem.

Can someone give me information on Work Study? I'm a first year with 20 units, so I'm kind of worried about overloading myself. Should I sign up for a job or should I concentrate on my classes during the first quarter?

I can't help you there.
But I can tell you 20 units is a LOT.
Concentrate on your classes, unless you like.. really need money.

Aw, that's a lot of units... after fall quarter starts, in the beginning you're still allowed to change your schedule, so if you start feeling like you can't handle it, maybe you could drop a class then.

Under the search filter near the top left, select "Work Study" for the Position Type.

Some common jobs are assisting in offices/departments, the dining halls, or the libraries. What do you wanna know about work study? haha. Well even if you end up deciding not to work yet, you could still apply for jobs and see if you could get an interview, at least for experience. For a work study job, you are only allowed to work up to 19 hours per week. Keep in mind that you'd have to get a work study job and work some hours during your first year, or you wouldn't be offered work study again the following year.
