I say crash the class the first day of class. And at the end of class go down to the professor and ask him to add you to the class. I was going to take Korean (but Korean 002) as well during first quarter but I'm saving it for second quarter.

yeah i guess that what im probably going to do but i noticed that language courses (well at least for japanese/korean) they offer at a cycle, like if u don't take krn001 or jpn001, u won't be able to take it in that first year, b/c fall quarter would only offer krn001 and winter quarter would only offer krn002, and so on.....does anyone know if it true for all cases? or there has been krn001 offer doing winter/spring quarter before?? (b/c i did check the scheule of class and i have a friend that go to UCR that told me this)

And on one note I'm just saying what I thought. no need for bashing me. I don't like UC Riverside ok? That's just how I feel and I'm entitled to my own opinion. This is a forum where I can say my opinions but not to the point of abusing the system which i was not.

the following site helps u find what booksu need for ur following classes, just check the classes that ur taking, like business then checked the "BUS" and then the # will show up, like if it Bus101 or bus107,etc...and then it will show the book u need

or u can go to ilearn.com and maybe ur professor might have already uploaded a syllabus, so u can check out the information or when u need the book by

did you even look back to what you wrote? have you even been to UCR? or attended any classes? don't form your own opinions without having some kind of experience or knowledge.
let me tell you this, it doesn't matter how GREAT the school is. what matters is what you make of it.
back in my step-father's days, UCI was considered what you call a "ghetto" school, and almost anyone was accepted. look at it now, it's grown so much and has a great reputation. UCR has that potential too. all good schools have to start SOMEWHERE, right? ignorant and closed minded people like you don't even realize that
now, PLEASE, get a life and stop posting your unnecessary comments in here. why don't you go find a thread for the community college you're going to attend? LULZ have fun there.

Only certain language courses like Korean and other languages (not sure which) are offered in a cycle. More popular languages like Spanish 01 are offered every quarter, even in the summer.

I am pretty sure Korean 01 is only offered in the Fall. So if you miss it you'll have to wait till next year for me =\

Oh, and you should see the language counselor and just sign this slip saying you don't have any experience with the Korean language and then she will put a waiver so you can register for the class. I think without the counselor's permission you cannot register. So just set up an appointment with the undergrad language counselor and she'll have you sign this like yellow sheet.

I e-mailed my prof about it, and he said we'll be using edition 5... the super expensive one. Then again, I have honors chem, so I wouldn't know if it applied to you normal chem peoples.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I didn't want to come to UCR either at first but it grew on me. I think the school you go to doesn't really determined your character, if anything, it's just a stepping stone. Why argue about who's stepping stone is shinier? ;P
