ahaha yeh i know what you are talking about with those in the frats/sororities paryting/staying out late all the time.
but i think this one is sort of different? in the letter and the ucr website it says it's some kind of honors organization (not under fraternity/sorority category), and you get invited by having a certain gpa (not through rushing or whatever), and that you have to keep your gpa up each semester to not get kicked out. supposedly they are a "leadership, honors, and volunteering" organization lol so you'd just have to volunteer and whatnot. but there are probably parties too, who knows

(though i'm not really that kind of person)
but anyways i sent my membership fee today, i'll just see how it goes haha ><
Some people have told me (don't quote me) that some frat/sorority organizations BS their credentials and honors things.
But I mean I guess again, it's all depending on what type of frat/sorority you plan on joining. Like I guess the more social ones will obviously, party it up more while the more community service based ones will spend more time on planning fundraisers, events, etc.
I know a few people in that co-ed business frat on campus. I have no idea what the name is, but I've heard they spend lots of time planning events and fundraisers, so yeah - they sound pretty legit to me
