What everyone else said. A lot of people don't bother going to lecture because attendance is not taken, and to be honest, a lot of the concepts presented are pretty much common sense to this generation of computer users (and all the professor does is talk and talk and talk, which = boring). Thing is, it's important to pop in every once in a while because the professor does throw in random tid bits that he specifically says WILL BE on exams.
Lab is extremely easy.
I studied a lot for the exams but never did too well for some reason. I kept getting C's. =(
It's all memorization, so yeah. Overall it is an easy class and it should be a guaranteed-pass class. I ended with a B.
EDIT: Just a random tip I've mentioned many times that I'd like to reiterate: If you're going to be taking your car to UCR (commuting or living on campus) - PLEASE learn how to park between 2 lines. I admit some of the spaces (esp ones by curbs in Parking Lot 14) may be slightly narrow, but I've seen a BMW 528i and a Lexus GS300 fit perfectly into the spaces, and those cars are fat whales, too. If you are a terrible parker, as in over half one side of your car is over in the space beside you or the entire ass of your car is sticking out from the parking space - people will hate you. Just a warning.
