Honestly speaking, Riverside isn't a typical fall/winter weather area. I honestly don't feel it's ever been COLD to the point that I needed a good THICK jacket. I wore a navy blazer I had a few times when it seemed like it was cold and I ended up sweating a lot. I also have a brown fur hoody jacket. Did I ever wear it? Nope

It never full on rains in Riverside either. Yeah there will be showers and if it does rain, it's only very briefly.

Bottom line: Bring mostly warm weather clothing and a few long sleeved shirts and a good jacket. And sorry Keion. Lol

I'm not sure. We didn't get anything last year until the END of the year. They gave us a Student Handbook......which looks like a planner, but isn't. What's funnier is they gave us a handbook complete with a calendar in the back....of the 2008-2009 school year. Smart, huh?

If you want a planner, you're gonna have to get one yourself. Especially with budget cuts, I don't think the UC's can afford to give out any free goodies. Also, most classes - the teacher post up assignments online on iLearn/Blackboard, so in essence, you don't really need a planner.

I know some girls still like to have one, but...again, it's up to you.

and about the weather... riverside is basically a desert. so when its hot, it SUPER hot, but when its cold, its FREEZING cold. i remember back in november i had to layer on 2 jackets with leggings under my sweats, plus uggs. well maybe it was because i was always outside late at night & early mornings for dance practice. but anyway, most of the time the weather can be really hot but thats only during early fall spring & summer. winters are really cold & temperatures can drop all the way to below 30 degrees but then again winter doesn't last very long in riverside lol

Riverside can be really cold, but not below 30 degrees. The weather is unpredictable, like all weather, but you can bet that most of the time, every day, it will always be hot. Though when Riverside it's cold it can be very cold.

In East Lo we have the power to increase or decrease our own room temperatures and I always put the room on the lowest (I think it was...50 degrees?) and outside would be like 50 degrees already...

Sometimes I could hear my roommates teeth clacking lol. He'd raise it up, but whenever he'd leave I lowered the temp just to be a dickhead. He had a knack for never knocking before he'd enter...

well i guess it was different for me since i had those weeks where i'd spend the night on top of the UV tower parking structure for dance practice. i swear i thought i was gonna freeze to death. there was a night where we;d practice from 11pm all the way to 6am the next morning.. so yeah, i think i know how cold it can really get...
anyway, just be prepared especially if you get cold easily... but like i said, winters in riverside don't last very long anyway..

I called Housing and you're actually supposed to get a packet of info [roomate names, info, parking permit (if you got one or not), etc] in your mail (mailbox). The woman on the line said they should be out by the 1st week of September
