I'm either going to buy a small bed or just bring my portable one
but my mom kinda doesn't want me to bring it since it might hurt my back D ;
And orientation made me wake up at 5 am cause its 2 hours away from where
I live.
Took me more than 2 hours to get my registration for classes done

Oh...Doesn't sound like you had fun then, I'm sorry =/. I found my first orientation to be almost a complete waste of time...lol I remember I lost my key the first night I slept over, I instantly thought it was my dirty roommate thinking he was cute. But nope! The stupid key slid through a hole in the corner behind the bed...what a blast it was trying to find that one.
Well I always like sticking to the bare essentials of what I need...so I think a portable bed will do you good. Besides, you can move the bed whereever you please with little trouble, if you want to make room for whatever reason. You know one of those blow-up beds that you pump air too? I'd say it's a grade or two below a real mattress, but it serves its purpose.

I suggest getting a crappy mattress of any type, no matter how hard it is, and adding a 4 inch thick memory foam topper to it. It literally turns any bed into an amazing bed.
That's what I'm doing for my bed.

I don't really want to bring something that I could live without...ahha
Also, I was wondering if I can just stretch my regular twin sheets to fit the long twin mattresses...
But then I heard that the long twins are literally like a foot longer than reg twins....which would mean i need to get new sheets.
Lastly, should I bring a portable fan? I know there's the AC but idk about the room's ventilation.

It wouldn't hurt to bring one. They're easy to carry and take little space. I'm bringing one anyway...

It's a Credit Union one in Lothian. It costs 1.50 to withdraw with another bank using their ATM. But FYI, there's a BoA, Wells Fargo, Washington Mutual, and other ATMs in the Commons/Hub area.

You could definitely sleep on them without the mattress pad. I slept on it last year without, but I'm a easy-to-fall-asleep and easy-to-wake-up type.
Twin Xlong is literally Twin Xlong. You COULD stretch them to fit, but it would look seriously awkward. I suggest just getting Twin Xlong sheets.
If you buy a portable fan, get a Vornado.

Anyways, those of you who will be in Pentland - I've heard depending on your building, you could have a crazy year or a bland year. Last year I heard H Building was the most wild, and I visited it a couple of times. Yeah...CNAS people know how to get down. Haha
The good about Pentland from what I've seen is obviously the little luxuries (balconies, kitchenette, large central area w/ TV). And of course, Pentland is like a huge park. Beautiful and green. You have no idea how refreshing it is to sit on the grassy green on a sunny day (or under the shaded entrance of a Pentland building) and just have a moment for yourself.
The good thing about Pentland's large central area is that...well, it's very large so it's ideal for get-togethers and such. East Lothian has lounges, too, but only select halls have them. A&I and West Lothian I believe don't have lounges.
oh.. and i lived in H building last year. it WAS very wild indeed. and it was very horrible.
