I'm sure most of you guys are uninterested, but!...just in case I just so happen to be mistaken...There is a party taking place after Block party, which is on friday during the week of school.
I (amongst many others) are hosting it. I know the address, but it isn't confirmed yet.
You'll likely have a lot of fun if you're not straight edge...and even if you're a complete square, perhaps you will derive some amusment and entertainment from the stupid freshman who don't know their drinking limits (Thanks to their overprotective parents). This is a great way to get to know people. If you have almost no friends, I advise you to go and have a good time and I can promise you you will have at least ONE new friend. If you're open and not completely anti-social you'll come out knowing a lot more people.
Don't be shy and insecure, trust me, use this time to get to know people (having friends mean more opportunities guys)before you're all rotting in your death beds with no one but imaginary friends to cater to you.
Oh and there will be beer pong.
If you're too shy to request a beer pong game just find me and tell me and I'll get you in a game. I want you guys to have fun.
...and I THINK we're providing rides. If not, never fear, if I think you're a cool person I'll request a friend to give you a ride.
PM me if you're interested, I don't want to spew the address in public. Just know the address will be very near UCR.
Haha. No offense, but this post itself sounds very "square." But have fun! Your party sounds very organized.

Actually, I believe the post is more lengthy than it is wide, thusly making it very rectangular.

I was trying to be more presentable, sounds nicer.

Honestly, I guess UCR is just what you make of it. And whether you like the place or not usually depends on the city you're from. Like I, for example, come from a very Asian place, with lots of coffee shops, Asian restaurants, shopping plazas, etc. The city of Riverside doesn't have too much of anything Asian or anything close to "fun shopping", so I don't really have a good time (esp. when it comes to food)
On a slightly different note, I've noticed that the only people who tend to have a real blast at UCR are people in frats & sororities, but I guess that's mainly because UCR's social life is heavily based on frats & sororities. Iono
My advice would be to TRY (keyword: try) to start the school year with an open mind. You might end up having more fun than you'd think

1. you dont gotta get charter.. but most people do for some reason...
2. that all depends on your prof, she may or may not issue assignments that can only be accessed through the CD... so i'd prolly email her ASAP to ask

oh woops, sorry i didnt make that clear.
it depends which apartments you're at. the full details of which apartments supply internet and which dont, are @ housing.ucr.edu.
off the top of my head, stonehaven & glenmor supply internet. also as far as wireless goes, theres a coverage map for the UCR's wireless service @ wireless.ucr.edu.

yep. though depending on your campus apt.. it might be included. otherwise, once you set up with riverside public utilities and riverside gas company, you can do everything online and there's no extra charge.
