Thank you irock and ji-hae for the info on the dorms. I have until Saturday to decide whether I should live in AI or West Lo unsure.gif So how long does it take to walk from West Lo to AI?
I'm leaning more towards West Lo right now, but all the events at AI make it seem more fun and social, so it'll be nice if I could walk over to AI when I feel really bored or lonely =)
Oh yeah, do you have any more incoming freshman tips? (like that one where you bring a bathrobe because you don't wanna be walking around with just a towel wrapped around you) lol, now i need to buy a bathrobe before september.

I have one quick question...
If I choose Flex 5...and once I run out of meal points for the week...
Will I be able to buy 10 extra meals with $40?????

When you run out of 'meals' they will charge you through your dining dollars/bear bucks.

it probably takes 5-7 minutes from lothian to AI.

hmmm do any of you guys have facebook? since there are a lot of bio majors here... it would be nice if we get to know each other :>

during the bear facts orientation, they'll set out a time and place for students to take the math or chem or language, etc. (or all lol) placement tests, so you take it right then and there smile.gif

that way, they'll have your result so at the end of orientation you can register for classes.

I took my placement test during the school year. It was easier for me to get them out of the way before hand. Orientation is kind of hectic and very hot. I doubt you'd do your best after a long day of walking around in the heat. =/

god food at the dorms is so expensive. take advantage and eat as much
as u can. even the food sucks, 9 out of 10 times, eat other things i mean
u're paying a lot might as well make the most of it. if i didnt eat, and had
extra meal points, i would go get lunch or breakfast and stock up on
water, cereal, etc. lol

lol I stocked up last year too when I had the flex 10.

Sometimes I didn't even want to go to dinner (cause food is not good and I lived in the furthest building in Pentland lol) so I just go to Logo's (grab and go place) to stock up on snacks and stuff during breakfast and lunch. Had to use up my meal swipes haha.

Other than that, I used dining dollars to eat elsewhere on campus or buy food from the convenience store.

But the experience is different for everyone I guess, some people in my dorm really liked the food... but I'm a picky eater. Although, breakfast at A&I during the weekdays aren't so bad if you're willing to wake up early nor is brunch in Lothian weekends. It's just dinner that's kind of bad.

hi miyukihime! smile.gif
since you're a science major, may i ask how are the science classes at UCR compared to say AP sciences classes in hs?
which class do people usually have difficulty in? how competitive is it? and finally how many hours do you spend studying for it? also, do you suggest i join the CNAS Scholars thing, how about the Medical Scholars Program?

oh and can you take a honors course without being in/joining the university honors program?

sorry, it's so much questions, hope you can please help smile.gif

thanks so much!
