I'm about twenty minutes and practically everyone is going there. >.< Party like high school...omg, I have a confession!!

I have NEVER been to a high school party with drinking or anything. Is that weird? I heard theres drinking in dorms and stuff like that. Am I a freak? LOL

I think there was only about 3 people from my high school my grad year that ween to UCR lol, but it's nice to meet new people.

Also, nothing's weird with the party thing. I never went to any party with any drinking business since I don't drink. Although, first week in my dorm- I found a big bottle of vodka in my freezer one morning among other things. Pretty interesting.

There are lots of party off campus and in the apartments, but also some dorm ones. But, no big ones in the dorms- the drinking is pretty much confined to your room since you don't want to get caught and have to deal with the Resident Director~ too much of a hassle. Most people party elsewhere and just come back to the dorms drunk at odd hours in the morning... pretty funny lol (at least in my building, but then again Pentland was pretty quiet).

barbiedemo: you have to get at least an 8 to pass the requirement so let's hope both readers deem our essays worthy of a 4 at least =)

I don't know about the math exam though. Can anyone explain the scoring guide for that?

Hey I was wondering, what does that University Village offer besides food places and movies? It would be nice to have a place within walking distance to do my groceries and clothes shopping.

groceries is... not in uv. clothes is not in uv. uv has... food.

for groceries and clothes u WILL need a car, or be willing to walk a distance for groceries. ralphs, food4less, kmart, stater bros., technically is all within walking distance but u dun wanna walk that. for clothes there's like 3 malls, tyler mall, ontario mills, and moreno valley, i've never been to the moval one but mills and tyler are pretty cool

Do all your housing payments still say pending or is it just me? My check already went through but it still shows as pending.

Has anyone who took the MAE test gotten their results yet? I remember them saying they'd send it within 3 weeks time and it has been about two months...So I decided to ask now.

You can't take the math placement test at orientation according to them.

Can I take the Mathematics Advisory Exam (MAE) at Bear Facts Orientation?

No, the MAE will not be given in July during Bear Facts Orientation. The MAE exam is necessary to enroll into a UCR Mathematics course. In addition, many disciplines including Chemistry and Biology, require Mathematics before enrolling into entry level courses in these fields. Therefore, students who have not taken the MAE before July may be severely limited in their registration for Fall classes during Bear Facts Orientation.

rit chan, haha it says on the site 2-4 weeks but longer for this april/may period when everyone rushes in their documents. for me, they haven't even updated the page that says if they received my documents or not.
but don't worry since the financial aid estimate they gave us like two or three months ago should be more or less the same award amount we'll receive. at least it better be or else they going to hear an earful from me =)

what documents are you guys talking about? like our parent's tax stuff? or the fasfa?
because UCR hasn't asked me for any documents at all. In Growl, it just says they've received my fafsa. And under documents needed or whatever it just says i need to take a loan couseling web tutorial thing to get a loan from them.

^ i think for most people it says something like this:
QUOTE
Required documents:
Parent 2007 Federal Tax Return
Submit a copy of ALL pages of your parents' 2007 federal 1040 income tax return, including all schedules. Also include copies of all W-2 forms that your parents received. Be sure your parents sign their tax return. Write your UCR Student ID Number on their 1040.

i sent mine in several weeks ago and it still hasn't said that they've received it yet.

ppl who are sent in documents regarding fafsa, the fin aid office has a lot of paperwork to go through so it might take a while for it to show up. but if u wanna make sure u can call, but i heard for incoming freshmen the deadline isnt until the 15th, right now they're working on the documents they recieved from the may 1st deadline with current students cause i know my hold is still there and i turned it in a long time ago. and i called the ppl and asked.
as for the MAE and other requirements tests, the site says no, but according to me and other students who went to orientation, it always said no, but when we got there they said we had to take it. plus they grade it faster that way, u get to know by the end of the day ur results. so im not sure about this year, i dont see why they wont let u take it. they dedicate a few hours of the first day to the tests and have the ppl who dont have to take it, walk around -___-

Oh. Em. Gee.

I just tried to call Collegeboard to send my scores and one of the numbers doesn't work. The other one got some weird guy. Twice.

Does anyone know what numbers I can call? I called the numbers on the website and the ones inside my AP student pack. ......

I'm starting to get worried. >.<

I dont understand something...
so we need to take the math, english, chemistry, and foreign lanuage placement test before the Orientation?
where do we take it at...is there any local CSU where i can take those placement test at?
Because going to UCR to take those tests can be a little difficult.
