is it because there's not enough smart people, school spirit, boring city,,,etcc..?
because i'm actually quite excited to go to riverside lol. >< I mean i don't think it matters what school as long as you're social and make good friends, then you'll love where you are. Plus, who cares how smart others are, if you have good grades that's all that matters. I wouldn't want to transfer and have to adapt to a new environment and leave all the friends i've made at UCR. I think as long as i work my butt off and get good grades, I will get into medical school, no matter what UC or college I came from. Cause I know 5 friends through my family that went to UCR and now is in medical school.
It's just how you make of it, if you come in to the school with a bad feeling of it already, your years aren't going to be very fun lol. I mean people go to calstates and community colleges and they learn to love it. UCR is still a UC you know, people are smart there too I'm sure.
anyways, when we live in a dorm do we have to share our stuff with our roomate?

Also, for those who are freaking out about their GPA~ it's what you make of it. There are those who have low GPAs in high school but turn themselves around in college and get 3.5+ GPAs that are science majors. It's not because the classes are easier, trust me it's not once you get to upper div. Make use of office hours, drop-in tutoring, study groups, etc. and get to know what professors you should take or not. Also, learn to balance your social and school life... and GO TO CLASSES! lol. That's the main reason why a lot of people suffer with their grades.
^And for the sharing with roommate thing, it's up to you. If you're comfortable with sharing certain things then go for it. I only shared food with my roomate since we shared the fridge, other than that, I wouldn't want her touching my clothes.

i think i wouldn't mind sharing food and school supplies with my roommate.
but yeah, i agree with miyukihime, i wouldn't want my roommate to touch my clothes even though she's someone i already know from high school~

I found out my math placement exam score. Looks like I'm taking Math009A intro to calc. Now I just have to wait for the written exam score.
Btw, will we ever find out our actual score? All the site said was they scored my exam and that I was placed into that course. I like to see what I got wrong on my exams cuz I'm a dork like that =P

I would have to say know your trig functions and radians, radicals (i remember simplifying them when they're in fractional form, multiplying, and adding), quadratic functions and their graphs, logs, and those stupid exponents like 5^a-3/4 = 8^2a so what is "a"?
Good luck with your exam! What do you hope to be placed in?

You recieved them? I took it like...on march and I haven't recieved them. Where did you get your score?
Edit: Nevermind, found it through the UCR web-email. I didn't see it because of all the clutter...anyways, I got into
Math 005(Precalculus)...It says you need an exceptionally high score to get in that one, so I guess that means I'm pretty amazing huh?
