Major Rejections (uc's Mainly) Happen to anyone else? I can't be the only one...

I applied 5 UC's (UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCI, UCR) and I only got into UCR, which is pathetic because that's an incredibly easy UC to get into.
I kinda had UCI as my goal school, so it really brought my world crashing down when I found I didn't make it.
I keep seeing people making UCLA, UCSD, USC and all that. I mean, I did make Cal States and one private, but it's still depressing.
Anyone else here get rejected like mad this year? I mean, I know this year was supposedly the most competitive of all, but I know I can't be the only one.

i applied to ucla, ucberkeley, uc davis, uc irvine, cal poly pomona, cal poly san luis obispo, & stanford.
i only got accepted to uc irvine. i couldn't even get into calpolys
-_____-''
i actually don't mind going there so it's alright.
a lot of my friends didn't get in ANY UC's at all.
& a lot more of my friends couldn't even get into ucirvine.
this year is just hella ridiculous.

Holy. Are you serious? How could you get UCI but none of the Cal States? That's so weird

the majority of my friends got into at least UCSD and the day the decisions came out, they were like "you got in, right?" ...

both my older brother and my older sister attended UCSD too...

i'm the family failure.

My other friend applied to UCI, UCSD, UCD, and UCLA. He got rejected from the last three and is waiting for Irvine to determine if he's college-bound.
Pretty scary stuff mang. I blame budget cuts; it screwed us over this year. -____-

I was pretty worried because my only backup for the UC's was UC Davis, and I knew that if I didn't get in Davis, the rest of the three schools are just not going to happen.....lol
But the 08ers shouldn't be too disappointed because you guys DO know that we're the largest class to graduate in decades right? Not even 09's have more people than us (please believe me because I just read several articles in the paper a few days ago, lol) So, I guess it was a hard year.....

I know!
I was so relieved when I found out I got accepted to UCI.
I have decent grades + extracurriculars also.
I found out from the states first that I was rejected.
I was freaking out so much because those were my safety schools!
I hate this years admissions

But man, I wanted UCI SO bad. You guys don't even know. I still feel so crushed.
And I also noticed not a lot of people applied UCR
I wonder if I didn't apply UCR, would I have gotten in UCI? Because I heard if you are a California resident, you are guaranteed admission to at least one UC, and on my list, UCI would have been the so-called lowest campus. Man, no point in wondering now. What's passed has passed, but I'm still hecka sad.

i applied to UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI, and UCSB. i got accepted to the last 3.
i know how you guys feel about getting rejected from SD, i thought i had a pretty high chance, becuase my GPA is pretty high, and SAT is avg for SD admissions, i have extra curriculars too.
most of my friends got into UCB and UCSD, so yea, it's pretty depressing for me since i compare myself to my friends a lot, and they're smarter than me, so it makes me even more depressed.
but i guess, it is cuz '08 is such a large class, and they've had the most applicants this year than ever.
UCSD was my reach, and UCLA was my dream school.

Some of my friends didn't get into ANY UC's and are basically stuck going to community college.

^ I`ve never heard that if you`re a CA resident you`re guaranteed admission, because people still get rejected from all the UC`s they applied to. You`re only guaranteed one UC if you`re an ELC student, which means you`re in the top 4% of your graduating class at your school (GPA wise). But only certain UC`s are guaranteed. Berkeley and UCLA are exempt from this.

She applied to UCLA, UCB, UCSB, UCSD, and UCI. And she got rejected from all of them. She really wanted to go to UCI too. I wish I could give her my admission. ;[

i feel bad for my friend who only applied to two colleges total... UCD & UCB i believe.. she didn't make it into ucd.. and i highly doubt she made it into cal... i feel really bad for her =/ but in a way... it's sort of her fault for not applying to backups and such...
and as for the other UCs.. i'm veryyyy curious at how they admit their students... cause some people got admited to ucsd who i dont think should have gotten in.. while otheres.. whom i believe should have gotten in didn't.. it's a crazy world. and i think one of my friend who didn't make it into ucsd.. made it into ucb.

how'd you get accepted to USC, but no UCs seem to baffle me.
