I'm faced with a really crappy situation. I'm taking all honors or AP classes, and I've gotten all As my freshman year and all As my junior year.
The only problem is that my sophomore year grades were not hot at all. I had 5 Bs and only 2 As. My GPA is a 3.76 unweighted.
Do you think colleges will dislike what they see when they see grade changes throughout highschool? Do you think they will count a bad year against me?
I'm looking at colleges like University of Chicago, Dartmouth, Cornell, etc.

Well.. you definitely made improvements during junior year so that will definitely please the college administrators. I think your're on the right track. Maybe.. have really high SAT/SAT II scores and lots of extracurriculars to make up for your sophomore year?
You could have a high chance in getting into UC's..
but I'm not too sure about Ivys. They look for a perfect transcript most of the time. =/
Good luck!
