its gonna be my 4th year next semester and i've changed from Accounting, to Info Systems, i've wasted about 4 classes which is like 1 semester for me
the 2 intro courses of accounting dragged me into thinkin it was my major, how interesting computers can me dragged me into info systems
i had no knowledge in computers before hand and its hurting me and can't find no john teshin internship etc...
all i want is a good career in life and make like 90k at most, starting i'd be glad with 50k or even 40k, i just wanted to raise a family and have a stable job like everyone else
i have an A in my info systems class b/c i study real hard; he's a nice professor but sorta unorganized and not clear, everyone in the class knows it too, now i have 2 projects and don't know where to start even when reading the guidelines 3 times straight, its like draw a diagram, make a CAT5 cable, draw this draw that; and im like WTF with what? how? now write 6 pages about Fedora Core blah blah blah......i was expecting us to read from the book and test the material on it, he just spews out computer material that makes no sense to me except for basics like say topology
all i can say is i screwed myself over twice.....imma hardworking guy but info systems seems like its a major that all about knowledge on things, and if u don't have the knowledge before hand your screwed, if you don't know crap and u work hard it doesn't matter as much as someone smarter than u
i just to be upperclass working in an office, suit and tie and doing my own thing and say at a big company; i know 2 cousins who have Bus Admin degrees but they just work at the bank, and the major is so broad.......pls help b/c im so frustrated and i've let down my parents and myself, im doing everything i can to achieve a successful future but its not easy as it seems
i wish i was trilangual or was some translator but its a lil too late for that....btw i hate econ, acct, and finance, i hate math...and marketing is a no..so it seems like bus admin is my last choice

Successful people aren't those people who know how to do a few things. They're the ones who face any challenge and overcome it. People pay big money to other people who have this skill. For those that just do a handful of tasks that don't provide these type of challenges, they become the middle of the pack.
Which one do you want to be?

now you know what you hate, what you like,
work it out.
it doesnt matter about the 'get out in 4 years'.
it matters that you acutally do your best,
learn a lot and go out into the world knowing what you want to do.
think about it for a while if you're not ready.
dont go into something you dont like.
yes, that's what we'll call... MID- LIFE CRISIS. yes.
you cant just want to be an upperclass man working,
you acutally have to get there,
and get there with your heart too.
i know that your mind might be set there already,
but if you cant deal with the steps along, personal growth is deprived.
bleh. im ranting. rants.
anyways. i just really do want you to get going on with life,
and to get to where your heart is really set.
all those things that you mentioned, what the heck of cheese and mustards! i have no clue.
but see, that shows you're an intelligent man.
dont lag. get on it boy!!!!
everyone wants a good job. everyone wants to support their love ones.
but if you dont have the heart that goes along with the things it takes to get there,
it wont be tooo helpful.
you cant get to D without passing B and C.
but if you're not happy with B and C, you'll just dwell with A always thinking about D.
oh my gosh. i think i literally reached the boring mark.
okay. GOOD LUCK.
you're fine. as long as you can do what you can do, do it.
be happy. that really matters.
a happy heart will lead you further.
take care.

besides, business is very competitive. if you're easily giving up w/ just a taste of the surface, it'd be really hard for you to survive in this area.
also, just having a business degree doesn't mean you'll have a high-income job in a prestigious company. like your cousins, you are very likely to start off your career with simple jobs like bank tellers (which i don't think requires a college degree), and moving your way up is a slow process. if you truly have no passion for business, i suggest you try something else, because many of the things you hate that you listed are components that make up business administrations.

Yo, you basically hate every branch of subject that is involved in business. Once you get into the real world, you'll realize that earning a living is not as cut and dry as it seems in your coursework. No matter what you do, you'll need to think critically, analyze things deliberately, improvise solutions with sound judgment, and ultimately, determine if you can take actions that will translate into profit. No matter what you do in life, you'll need to learn the economic implications of your actions, tread the dangerous, and often highly volatile waters of office politics, and sound interesting enough to appear intelligent.
You need math, marketing, economics, accounting, and finance. You don't need to be an expert in any of these topics, but to be ignorant of the courses that are taught in school will only impede your progress.
Try to develop a passion for learning, regardless of the topic, since this is of minor importance. What's is important is that you keep an open mind and dedicate yourself to self-improvement.

business admin is not a focus like finance, marketing and accounting. it's an umbrella term to include all of those things. finance, marketing, information systems are all a discipline inside of business administration. if your school has a separate focus called 'business admin' then i'm not really sure what it fully entails.
people who graduate with a degree in business administration have all focused on one aspect of it. they are the investment bankers, the CIO's, the financial analysts, the marketing directors, accountants, managers, team project leaders, human resource directors etc.

Personally, if you are almost finished with getting your business degree, then get it. After you find a job and get settled, go back to school. Go to the career office, ask advisers, try to find out what you would really like to do. Once you do, then you can go to school while working and possible already having to take care of a family. A lot of people go back to school,

i need a lot of thinking to do over the summer
don't just think. go seek out each department and ask for resources and learn what each one is about. join any campus clubs/organizations that are related to those focuses. do the thinking after you have all the proper information to make a good decision. if you want to get ahead in the business world, you gotta take the initiative. think fast, think hard and get all your facts together. the most important skill is not one that you'll be taught in the classroom, but the one that you'll need in every aspect of life. that's the key to success. school's just a place to teach yourself a skill of the trade and to expand your perspective through other people, who will hopefully someday be your partners in crime

please don't make decisions on how 'cool' the major sounds
any business major coming out of college will spend the first few years grinding on excel
unless you go manage a walmart or something

or you could try hotel management if your school has it.
my older brother had accounting as his major and he thought it was sooo boring but he switched to hotel management~
