So, I think it's safe to assume that most of us in this particular subforum are still in high school.
I'm writing an essay on how race shouldn't be a question in the college admissions process.
Some background info:
--The United States follows Affirmative Action (http://en.wikipedia....rmative_action) which basically gives minority groups an advantage when it comes to a higher education, employment, etc.

With this in mind, I want to focus on how Asian-Americans are now at a DISADVANTAGE because colleges want to limit how many Asians are accepted to promote "diversity". For this reason, only the highest performing Asians would get into schools while "mediocre Asians", who may perform just as well as a person of another race, are rejected to let the minority groups in.
My questions for you all are:
1.) What ethnicity are you? (If you're Asian, specify if you're Korean, Chinese, etc)
2. ) Do you think race should be taken into consideration when applying to college?
3. ) As an Asian, do you feel that you are facing/will face this discrimination when applying?
OR
As a non-Asian, do you feel that Asians are at a disadvantage? Are you relieved or do you feel uncomfortable?
4. ) What do you think can be done to change this process?
***NOTE: I'm not trying to saying Asians are bomber than other ethnic groups, but it is a proven fact that Asians perform better in school. Don't get offended; I do NOT think other groups are dumber or less qualified to go to college.
thanks in advance!!!
